I look more rad than Lutheranism

Well, now I'm torn on what to watch instead of the inauguration: a rerun of Pres. Obama's second inauguration, or Flash Gordon, which is on another channel. Dang.

xposting with Business:

Do we have any wordpress gurus in the house?

I need to change my seven year old [myname].com template.

I love the current site, but I need so many changes I just don't think the old template can accommodate.

I found this one that I quite like.

Do you, or do you know someone who can, work with this kind of thing?

All I need is 1) an assessment of whether or not the theme is good and stable code, 2) a tutorial on how to back up the current site for safety and 3) the background set-up the new template.

I can do the migration of text with my minimal html skills, assuming the template permits that. I really want to be able to control future changes, including the graphics in the slider, etc.

My long-term web guy is nice, and quite reasonable, but not super responsive since I'm not a 'big fish.'

The 'reasonable' part is key too. My income has dipped precipitously and the image refresh is part of taking advantage of a GOOD thing coming up in a couple of weeks. I can, and will, pay what is needed but it will be a stretch.

All suggestions gratefully received!

If you are not available, or interested, do you have any trusted referrals I could explore?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I feel the opposite. I would not have approved had Democrats done this when Bush was elected as that was a legitimate win by an actual politician (one I massively disagreed with, but...). Trump is dangerous and he needs to be treated as the illegitimate POTUS that he is. To act as though any of this is normal is not acceptable in my eyes.

I'm with you. This should not be normalized. There's too much at stake and too much that's just WTF levels of shady and wrong.

We're not in a case of politics as usual. We're in a case of motherfuckers, show us some spine and some strength and resist, because there ain't no reasoning with the incoming shitshow.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I think making a statement up front can be important and as the inauguration is mostly optics anyway that's as good a place to do it as any, as long as they show up and do their jobs (unlike the bulk of the republican congress for much of the last 8 years) the rest of the time.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh, Epic, hope that is easily resolved.

I have never been a watcher of inaugurations, I am not actually certain how much they matter either way - attending or not, I mean. Witnessing the oath of office could certainly be spun as readiness to hold accountable, yes?

Been a busy few days for me and today I don't really want to do anything but stay in my pajamas and watch TV. Which is not entirely ok, none of the stuff I've done has been housecleaning or laundry and there are minimal standards to be ready for the work week that I have not yet met.

Attending the first Obama inauguration was a true celebration for me and mine. It just felt like a global party.

I was working during the Clinton inaugurations, and in mourning during the Bush's.

This time, I'm just tense about what might happen to my neighborhood.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got to see Rogue One with Gary.

On the down side, got a call from daycare that Mr.S woke up from his nap with one eye gunked shut. Took him to the pediatrician who determined he had conjunctivitis in that eye =and= an ear infection. Joy.
