Buffy: So how'd she get away with the bad mojo stuff? Anya: Giles sold it to her. Giles: Well, I didn't know it was her. I mean, how could I? If it's any consolation, I may have overcharged her.

Gonna see if I can do anything with my weak ass thin nails.

Nailtiques formula 2 is magic for weak nails. Seriously.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Nate Silver's reflexive panic is starting to strike me as clickbait.

Ayup. PEC has had the HRC win probability at 99% for the past month.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I think it's time for some good news! (I always have to be different.)

A while ago a school bus with kids aged 4 to 10 caught fire. The driver got the kids off and to a safe place. Then she WENT BACK INTO THE BURNING BUS to make sure there wasn't anyone left on it. Good woman! She's received all kinds of praise - deservedly.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just came here to report my election anxiety is near an all-time high. Then I read the recent posts here and now I feel better.

Also, I think an election anxiety group hug would be nice.

I think the tone of the texts and emails from Clinton's campaign are sort of panic-making, though. I get that they need every last dollar from now until Tuesday, but hello, more anxiety.

Right now they're mostly raising money for PACs which will help downballot candidates (SENATE!!!!), plus high voter turnout makes it easier to say "mandate" in January, but yes, those emails are not great for the blood pressure.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have a bottle of fancy cider I keep forgetting to drink. I think I'll save it for election night.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I am down for an election anxiety group hug. Every day I play the 270 Game, adding up the numbers. I can't see how she could lose unless she loses every swing state, and that doesn't seem likely at all. But I'm still nervous. I couldn't believe GWB would win either, either time.

Thanks for the job~ma. -t does have a point. As does my co-worker who pointed out that there are two guys in our department who've been here 17+ years and are still Associates, having never been promoted; if anyone's going to be let go, logically it'd be them. (Not that I want that to happen to them. It's more like, I don't have to run faster than the bear, I just have to run faster than you.)

brillig

high voter turnout makes it easier to say "mandate" in January

I've seen so many posts about feminism and man-splaining that I saw "mandate" as "man-date", and I was trying to figure out how dating was tied into the election, and when we started gender-specifying dates.
