They're predicting snow for DC ... AN INCH ... of course, panic is ensuing. One woman in my office refuses to come in when it snows; she's older and uses a scooter, so there's some rationale behind it.
And, in other news - some other possible snow-related panic.
Ya gotta be prepped with french toast in nasty weather.
Yep. That's DC. On the other hand, I'd already arranged to work from home tomorrow for other reasons.
We aren't expected to get anything until after work Friday and into Saturday, but I'm thankful that my workplace is ridiculously loosey-goosey on WFH requests for those of us with office jobs (sadly, can't make the factory side of the business that way). I'm also thankful for whatever anonymous internet genius originally photoshopped that AT-AT on Glenwood Avenue image that I repost every year, because it so perfectly captures the reaction to snow here.
Timelies all!
Yeah, I'm not thrilled about tomorrow's morning commute here in the Maryland 'burbs. At least, not 270.
Speaking of media, I just found this lovely painting of winter in NC. [link]
Still amazed I handled the crush in 08. Literal at times. Probably because it was super positive and I was responsible for a kid.
I think it was doable for me because it was such a feel good moment. This is not a feel good moment.
The grocery store was packed today, I thought it was everyone buying for the weather but it turns out there was a local foods thing going on and that's why people were there.
I am approved for working from home tomorrow! WHEE!
Guh, I just started feeling really queasy in the last 10 minutes or so and there is no one here to complain to. Oh well, going home, if I feel like crap tomorrow I won't come in.
