"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I lost it when she started calling the cape buffaloes water moccasins.

sarameg, go to the inhumane traps before you have Danger Mouse run across you in your bed at night like I did.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am mildly disappointed that Truffle Kerfuffle does not appear to have controversial ingredients. Though I suppose there's always the question of how to pronounce pecan.

Truffle Kerfuffle looks really good.

Things you don't want to hear as you're pulling out of your parking lot on your way to work: The traffic reporter saying "The best bet for everyone is to just not leave your house today." But I'll lose my monthly bonus if I miss anymore unscheduled days this month.

Things you don't want to see as you reach the road up to your office building: The police beginning to block off the road up the hill because how slick it is.

But I'm here, amongst my dry-coughing brethren. We're comparing cold drugs.

Oh Connie, stay safe.

We got about a foot or so of snow overnight and it is still falling. Kelly and C got to work, not sure what adventures they had on their way. CJ got part way to work only to get a call to go home. He said he almost got stuck once and got moving just as a police car was ready to give him a bump/push. Then he helped a couple of people whose cars were stuck in their driveways. Such a good kid. Now he is home, building a fire in our newly cleaned fireplace. I may need to go work downstairs to enjoy the flames.

Separately I have come to theorize that most, if not all, firemen (or aspiring firemen) are pyromaniacs.

Punishingly Intricate

I decided this cold to not even try with cold drugs (aside from a toddy before bed). They provide false hope and never make any difference anyway.

That really sucks that you feel like you have to be there when it's not safe, Connie. Our call center in Denver is closed due to weather but last night they set everyone up with what they needed to work at home today.

Also, my company is hiring full stack an backend engineers, and SEiT positions. Offices are in SF, DC, and Chicago. If anybody knows anyone who'd be interested, let me know!! There's a sweet referral bonus.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Looks like we might all be told to stay home/work from home tomorrow. I don't have much on my desk right now, so if I take care of all the paper paperwork, I could do online stuff easily tomorrow. YAY. Of course if the freezing rain/snow does not come through as predicted, we will have a giant scramble in the morning as people call in orders.

What's annoying is that the roads were quite acceptable so long as you drove slow. It's just when you get to the slope right below the building that it gets impossible. The downside of the incredible view I gush over, getting up to that view. I look at pictures of houses with steep, short driveways in snow country, and I wonder how they survive.
