Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I cross-post to LJ from my DW account. Not sure if I'm going to delete the LJ or not. I've nothing political on there, but I am a little worried about data mining, regardless.

An interesting tidbit on all this--DW sent out their periodic update message and said they've had over 100,000 new people sign up in the past 10 days. And bunches of them are Russian and Ukrainian, so they're looking for volunteer translators.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Gaia bless Yuletide.

One of my coworkers sent out an email wishing us all a joyous Yuletide. Took me a minute to figure out why that seemed out of context.

Hooray water!

I migrated from LJ to DW with an autoposting of one to the other (I forget which direction, maybe both?) a while back, but I am pretty much hibernating at both.

I was up till 1 or so last night (eating my superstition food and reading) and then woke up before 6 for no apparent reason, but instead of getting tons done I have frittered my time away trying to figure out how to get home from Tai Chi via public transit - I saw Zipcars yesterday and I thought I might be able to make that work for me, but not really. Now I am trying to figure out if there is a combination of bike route and bus route that will get me onto a train that doesn't get me home too late. It's more of a challenge than I expected.

I am beginning to suspect that watching this football game was not a good choice for improving my mood.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am beginning to suspect that watching this football game was not a good choice for improving my mood.

To be fair, the other team is playing way better than we are. Sigh.

I am so tired of the taste of cough drops. Between that and having no sense of smell at the moment, food is no fun.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I do know I don't want Turnip impeached or assassinated, because Pence is ten or twenty times worse--he's organized, he's an efficient politician, and he will deliberately dismantle the infrastructure as much past recovery as possible, if he serves as President for any length of time. Turnip is at least random in his recklessness. He could wreck a lot, but leave a lot standing, too.

See, I think Pence, despite being the devil incarnate, *won't* get us nuked off the map, while Trump is going to make all the 80s nuclear winter scares become very real very quickly because he is entirely unprepared and doesn't care that he's unprepared, and for some reason he's still allowed to Tweet. I want Trump impeached on day 1. I want him impeached the moment he's sworn in. Because fuck him.

Yeah, Pence is the devil we know, but Trump is still scarier for me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Productive Day is PRODUCTIVE

- sweep living room & kitchen
- vacuum living room area rug
- mail 4-5 things
make that 7! things mailed & another ready to mail tomorrow!
- pick up mail for work (so it doesn't have to be done tomorrow)
- measure window pane
- get window screen out (I think it is caulked in)
- go buy window pane & anything else needed for repair
- replace window pane & make child help
- clean bathroom
- have child do laundry, pack bag, and do anything else needed for going to school tomorrow - he has been told - nothing doing yet
- either take things to thrift store or list things on ebay
- pack lunch for tomorrow
- lay out clothes for tomorrow
- finish self-eval that was due yesterday
- do at least one load of laundry
- buy groceries

Taking a break and having a Shandy

extra bonus stuff

- made coffee, cooked breakfast, went to bookstore, treated self to bagel store, remembered to take plastic bag recycling to grocery!, cleaned up dog poop in backyard, took storage bin of extra linens to garage.

Ditto. And I've been breaking since I got up this morning.

The dogs wanted to go outside so I took advantage of their absence and quickly vacuumed the area rug and rather than sweep took the extension hose and did a vacuum of all the fur bunnies and dust monsters and leaves that I could see. Out of breath.

So really only self-eval and prep for tomorrow need to be done.

Yeah, we went to the grocery store today, and that's it. Watching Sherlock later tonight. That is my New Year's Day, and glad of it. (Though I think I have either gastritis or mild food poisoning, and I can't figure out which. Very annoying. Also painful.)
