Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Thrive to spite them

I'm sorry for your loss Conseula.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh god, I feel worse than yesterday. If today is somehow an indicator of what's to come in 2017, I'm going to spend the whole year sounding like Harvey Fierstein.

I'm with you in being sick Dana. I did make it to work but I did too much or something and almost threw up a few times and then came home.

I haven't been too congested just really really tired.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Low-key NYE for us. We're having a few friends over to watch DVDs and stuff.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Suela, I'm very sorry about your dad. All good thoughts to you and your family.

6 big salt lamps?! Wow! I got one for my birthday and love it!

I'm dyeing my hair pink and purple ombre today for the New Year, then eating sushi and attending a friend's NYE party. Although I woke up with one eyeball sore and swollen, and am feeling rather Cuchulainn.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Thank you, everyone. He just sort of shut down over the last week or so, and spent the last few days clearly working very hard, but apparently unaware of us. I wasn't there when he passed, I had gone to work and was trying to do some financial management of his affairs when I got the call.

Two of my brothers had been able to see him the day before, and my oldest brother visited in November. Afterwards, my sister & brother & I took a nice long hike in the woods, on a trail we had taken Dad on (although only a little ways) on Father's Day. And then we went out for a big sushi dinner and toasted Dad with some good scotch. He would have appreciated the scotch, if not the sushi.

It was a hard few years, but he's at peace, and I don't have to twitch with worry every time my cell rings now. I'm off to help my sister clear the apartment and figure out what to do with his cds, books, old slide rules and whatnot...

I get that reference! t /Cap

Right, you can exhale now. Your family has taken on a lot of stress and responsibility over the last several years.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I feel like we should check with the rest of the world and make sure 2017 is actually starting.
