In the quest to visit all of the doctors before my insurance resets, I had a sleep apnea study. I actually had the first one in Houston, so I needed the follow-up one, where they put you on a machine and adjust it throughout the night.
Did this Wednesday night, when I was starting to get sick and we had just gotten back from holiday travel the day before. For whatever combination of reasons, I slept like crap during the study. Did you know you could go a night without entering REM sleep? I did not. And the technician said they were doing a split study, where they monitored me part of the night and used the mask part of the night.
Got to the doctor today and found out that the technician MISREAD the damn orders, and I should have had a full night of the mask. So I have a machine to try based on limited info, and we'll see how it is in a month.

Tim did a home sleep study and then lab sleep study this year (he ALSO hit his out-of-pocket limit this year, woo! he tried to find one more medical procedure he could have today before it all resets Sunday, but no dice), and in one of them -- I think the lab study -- he didn't enter REM sleep.
You guys can be freaky sleep buddies.
Oh jeez, Dana. I imagine you were pretty tired on Thursday! Here's hoping the machine helps you.

I did pretty good, I think, for hitting the limit at the end of November. I have seen a lot of doctors this month. Plus two followup appointments for my carpal tunnel.
Wow, Dana. Hope the machine helps.
My new drivers license arrived, hooray! I can mail of my passport to be renewed tomorrow and not be identiless.
I'm so sorry, Consuela. Love to you and your family.
