Buffy: He ran away, right? Giles: Sort of, more. turned and swept out majestically, I suppose. Said I didn't concern him. Buffy: So a mythic triumph over a completely indifferent foe? Giles: Well, I'm not dead or unconscious, so I say bravo for me.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am hiding in the back room with all the lights out in the front of the house. BAH GHOSTBUGS! or something.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Me too, hiding.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

We got six t-o-ters and gave it up. We maybe could have had a few more, but the doorbells don't really work, so it was kind of a pain. One kid came as Donald Trump, "the scariest thing I could think of."

The last few years I haven't seen any trick or treaters on my block, and it was raining when I left work so I didn't even bring any candy home, and this is the year there are a few. So now I feel bad for having the light off, but I have nothing to give out. And, really, I've had enough of people today, even adorable small people in costumes.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

We got a bunch of trick or treaters, and gave out all our candy.

I haven't ever had any at my house, but am visiting my brother in law at the moment and we went out to dinner. Dunno if anyone came by earlier...but just after we got home at 9 someone was banging on the door and we were like "dang!" And he told the kid (tween) he didn't have any candy...but then I saw some dum dums sitting on the counter, so we gave him that. And then turned off the porch light!

I was mostly cleaned out by 8, left the rest in a bag with a note saying "you're the luckiest. All yours, from your neighbor on mystreet." Teen who got it, basically only a jersey as costume, still knocked on my door to tell me thanks and he liked the note. And his parents weren't even lurking on the sidewalk below!

Probably 100+ kids, emptied a drinktub full, maybe 5 big bags, but I do handfuls, not pieces. I'm that house.

Tip: skittles and nerds are major scores according to the under 13 set.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

We had actual trick-or-treaters! For the first time since moving here! I'm thrilled. Two brothers, the little one Batman and the big one Nelson Mandela, then three sisters in headscarves and very detailed face paint: a lion, a tiger, and a teddy bear. Adorable!

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

We had a lot (for us) of trick-or-treaters -- maybe 35 or 40? The weather was REALLY nice. But when we bought candy Tim insisted we buy an extra bag, so we have a CRAPTON left.

We sat out in our driveway the whole time with our down-the-street neighbors (who were friends before they bought on our street a year ago) and our new (as in 2 months ago) neighbors on the other side of our driveway. The husband of the new neighbors and I geeked out HARD about Marvel and everyone else rolled their eyes and let us nerd out.

brillig

I didn't get home till 8, so I think I missed everybody. There was a mini candy bar on the steps up to my apartment, so I take that as a sign that wild trick or treaters have been in the vicinity.
