Carrie and Debbie seem to be the last straw on my Coping Camel's back. Aside from celebrities, they are families, and this is an atom bomb in that family's midst. I'm not normally that upset by an older celeb's passing, they had good runs, but this is so clearly the result of the earlier shock that the tragedy is more acute.
There's only a couple of more days left in the year, it wouldn't be that bad if I self-medicated with carbs, would it?
There are worse things you could do.
Heck, it's been a pretty great year in personal terms for me and my family (moved into a new house, kids are so much happier in school, two siblings got engaged), but that doesn't mean the world isn't going to shit around us all the same.
I have to admit I'm annoyed at the people who I've seen chirping on FB how 2016 was their best year EVER and they don't get all the people complaining about it.
Yeah, it's just the second part there that's a problem. Of course (and thank goodness!) many, many people are having their personal best year in 2016.

Right -- I have no problem with people having had a great year. I'm happy for them! Maybe I should have phrased that better. My problem is the people who say they don't understand all the people complaining about 2016, because *they* had a great year.
Even if they have had a great year, unless they are Trump supporters, I am confused by anyone not understand the shitshowness of 2016.

Cubs fans who voted for Trump and hate androgynous pop stars had a good year.
I just spotted piroshkis in the vending machine and now I really want to try one. I am almost certain to be disappointed, but vending machine piroshki, so alluring!
I make my grilled ham and cheese sandwiches using a tortilla instead of regular sliced bread. Does that make it a ham and cheese quesadilla or a grilled ham and cheese in a tortilla? No spices are involved, just good ham and cheese. And is one of the root words of quesadilla "queso", ie cheese?
Reading about the refugee influx to Italy and Greece this year. 170k to Italy and 160k to Greece. More ppl moved into Texas than that this year, Over 400k this year. I know it is apples and oranges. Refugees come with nothing, need a ton of resources and aid. Still it pisses me off that TX fought refugees coming to the state when clearly we are taking in massive population influxes.
