So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

I don't know, I've been reading complaints from Canadians about the quality of their healthcare system lately. Yeah the price is right, but at least some people are finding they got what they paid for.

I think we might be eligible for Canada? But not for Australia . Of course if Clinton turns the US into a socialist wonderland I'll be on the first plane over.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

As long as you're healthy and traditionally employed, the system here works great!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

And Massachusetts has very good hospitals and doctors. (Please move here)

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Holy cow, I am not in the right frame of mind to be cheerful and interested for a 7AM meeting.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

There are rumors about layoffs at my company. Well, they aren't rumors, practically a whole department got laid off. The rumor is they're eyeing Books next, since that department has never been profitable. (And I'm all, "but aren't we a non-profit?" Still gotta make money, I guess.) My gossipy coworker who's my conduit to the grapevine is fearing our department will be next. I doubt it, we're the most profitable department besides sales/marketing, but you never know what our evil overlords are planning.

I don't know how much to fret. Some job~ma would be appreciated, if you can spare some.

I am not in the right frame of mind to be cheerful and interested for a 7AM meeting.

I hope that you can get away with just being present and no one insists on cheerful & interested.

job~ma, Zen. Even if they don't hit your dept, it will change company culture.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oof, good luck, Zen.

Holy cow, I am not in the right frame of mind to be cheerful and interested for a 7AM meeting.

I would literally never be in that frame of mind. I guess I should be grateful that our folks in other time zones mostly accommodate us here.

Our wings are not tired.

Hello New Natter!

Yikes Zen, job~ma.

Eating leftover pizza for breakfast and catching up a bit. Heart warmed this morning by loving thoughts in email and on line.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I am never happy for the 7AM meeting, but this morning I was just not able to deal with the stupid little things that I'd normally ignore. I was mostly a seething, silent pile of resentment.

But! That's done, and the packers are here.
