Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
Sorry to hear so many of us are under the weather, that's no fun at all.
We are headed over to a neighbors for Christmas dinner later, and I have been tasked with appetizers and desserts, so I plan to spend the morning making mini cheesecakes (some lemon with a gingersnap crust, some chocolate with an oreo crust) and mini latkes (to be topped with sour cream, chive, and salmon caviar).
Last night we managed to cram in the traditional Jewish movie + Chinese food for Christmas eve AND the actual first night of Hanukkah.
Yum Jess, those sound delicious!!
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
So far I've let the dog out, got the dog back in before she noticed that the channel was frozen over, which is some kind of miracle, took her for a consolation walk, and am now back in bed with coffee. No one else is up. It's very nice.
The big electric menorah was lit on the ship last night at sunset, but then later when I went out for dinner it was not lit, and today it isn't lit. Umm, I know I am not Jewish and not terribly well versed in traditions, but I am fairly certain it should stay lit. I wonder if there is an electrical issue or something.

Happy Holidays, Buffistas!!!
Happy holidays, Buffistas! You lovely people.
Nothing says welcome home for the holidays like being left waiting at the train station in the cold for 45 minutes because my sister forgot to pick me up.
Oh Tom. That sucks. I hope the day is looking up from here.
Good grief, Tom. I don't have words. So, like no Christmas miracles to be found there?
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to all those celebrating.
