The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Things I am willing to declare Christmas miracles: 1. my Big!Boss confirmed that my team is to take the week between Christmas and New Year's off, with pay, in spite of the mid-January deadline that is driving us all mad. 2. Big!Boss also confirmed that headcount has been approved for my side of the documentation team (where I'm the only person).

brillig

The weather radar has gone offline for my region. The map shows clear skies even though there's solid grey outside.

I'm reduced to estimating weather by what's going on outside my window! What mid-20th Century barbarity is this!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I have Rogue one tix for tonight, tix for 2 movies tomorrow, and 3 DVDs from the library. I am very pleased with the weekend outlook.

My TiVo died a terrible death several days ago. Harddrive failure, apparently. I ordered a new harddrive and swapped it for the old one, and now I'm waiting to see if it'll work. The TiVo "Just a few more minutes" thing came up, so that's promising.

Thrive to spite them

We are supposed to have icy rain tonight and tomorrow. I don't know about my town as there is nothing in the paper's website but Asheville is preparing with snow plows and rock salt.

Tomorrow I'm scheduled to work 5 am to 10 am. This mean leaving the house at 4 am and going the long way.

Last year I didn't drive end up driving when the weather is bad so I have no practice and I'm nervous about the "safer" road odd the mountain. It's not as steep and has fewer turns bit does have 2 hairpin turns. (Compared to the other random that is steeper and has about 33 turns total including a hairpin turn).

Not looking forward to tomorrow.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Well, the weather-guessers were right about the freezing rain here this evening. I was fine until I got home, but the 30 yards of parking lot I had to traverse made me wish I had put on my Yaktrax. I didn't fall, but came close twice.

I'll have to get my weekend errands done early tomorrow. The forecast is for 3 to 5 inches of snow in the afternoon, an overnight low of -3°F, and a high on Sunday of only 14°F. Brrrrr.

Good luck and fingers crossed for safe travel, askye.

I took a look at the weather forecast for Michigan, and let's just say I'm not looking forward to leaving California. Fuckin' wintry mix!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Rogue One was sold out for the 5:00ish show downtown so I saw Fantastic Beasts instead.

Success! I have tv back again and Librarians in my recording queue.

Good luck with the wintery travel, askye and shrift. I'll also be heading up to MI, but once I'm there my sister and brother in law do all the driving. Since they have years of experience in winter driving and I don't, I'm fine with that.

My second? third? cousin M is posting pictures of her and her newly adopted, chubby cheeked daughter. I remember 'babysitting' M at that age (more a mother's helper, I was like 11,) her deliciously fat cheeks and how exclaiming 'besos' would get you a wet gummy kiss landed somewhere in the vicinity of your face. I know she'll teach little Eliza Esperanza the same game.
