Spike: We got a history, him and me. Fred: What? Spike: It was a long time ago. He was a young Watcher, fresh out of the academy when we crossed paths. It was a, what-you-call battle of wills and blood was spilled. Vendettas were sworn. It was a whole-- Fred: My God you're so full of crap. Spike: Yeah. Okay.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Quick recovery, sarameg!

Banana bread is almost done and from what I tasted of the batter that cooked and fell over the edge, it's delicious. Mmmm, fresh thyme.

Less sure of the lemon/poppyseed batter which is awaiting it's turn in the oven. But I added a bunch of little tweaks and I think it'll work.

Yeah, the timeline got a little out of order. Not sure what happened there (I'll find out later) but part one of recovery beat surgery to notifying the surgery went well and I was awake and in recovery.

Feel like being lucid for a bit (and more water, so moving downstairs.) And to call my mom. Pain is dull and annoying, but still on the overworked muscle level.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I overcooked the top of the banana bread a bit, but the inside is luscious and that little taste of thyme is nice.

I wound up doing a blueberry top on my lemon poppyseed. I hope that works out.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.
