"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Banana bread with caramelized onions?? Or (I hope) something separate?

Did I say onions?! Oops, that's because I just put some in my breakfast sandwich.

NO! I meant caramelized bananas. Yeah.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ah, that makes way more sense.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That does make more sense. I didn't want to doubt you, but.

I went to the Penzys down the road from us. I got some stuff for my dad as a Christmas gift, and I got Chinese five-spice powder and zatar for us. And then they gave me free hot chocolate. I may be in trouble.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Right?

Glad to hear--I'm a big fan of caramelized onions but can't get on a "in banana bread" boat!

Okay, who approves the requests for naps, and can I fast-track my requisition form?

Okay, who approves the requests for naps, and can I fast-track my requisition form?

I'm sure if you ask the nearest dog you'll get enthusiastic approval.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Surgery~ma sarameg!

I wish a third of my freezer wasn't taken up with an ice maker I don't use.

Connie, I have found that I can store stuff in the part of my ice maker that is meant to hold ice (mine is not hooked up to a water supply) which reduces the wasted space.

Aw, Consuela, that sounds like a rough time for you dealing with your dad. And sympathies to your brother, that sounds like no fun at all.

OMG, I just want to go to bed. Maybe 8?

Twice in the last week I have actually gone to bed because I was tired and it had been dark for hours and only when I went to switch on the sleep tracking app did I realize it was only 6 or 7 pm. Stayed in bed, though. Both times I woke up in the middle of the night and read (actually, last night I woke up in the middle of the night and decided to make grits using the Slow Cook function on my new oven as an experiment. Successful! And just took pouring grits and water in a pot, adding a little butter and putting all that in the oven and then going back to bed)

Woo Laura with the walking! 4 miles a day is a lot!

I enjoy this juxtaposition of posts perhaps more than I should:

Miniature horses in a library! Awesome! We were in front of a group of miniature horses in the 4th of July parade - so cute!

Banana bread with caramelized onions?? Or (I hope) something separate?

Banana bread with caramelized onions sounds tasty to me. But caramelized bananas also sounds good. The lemon poppyseed with blueberries sounds downright delicious. I love the lemon/blueberry combo.

Okay, who approves the requests for naps, and can I fast-track my requisition form?

Approved.

I have no authority to approve anything, but I like to do it anyway.

Random: I feel like I should confess that I like to use adjectives instead of adverbs sometimes. "It works good" and "Cleans up easy" just feel better to say.

Home. A little foggy, but I came out of recovery pretty quick.

Currently upstairs, but I think I want to be downstairs, at least until I decide it is time for a pain pill. Feels vaguely like half my abdomen had the stomach flu, soreness wise.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Glad the surgery went well, sarameg! Easy recovery to you!
