I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Your poor brother, Consuela. I hope surgery and recovery go well for him.

Today's been all about the baking for me. Gingerbread, linzer cookies, pecan puffs, and buckeyes. My apartment smells amazing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ahahaha, Market Basket?

Kee-rect.

Oh no, your poor brother, Consuela! That sounds awful. Even for a person as lazy as I am!

Went with my mother to get trees (although they were sold out of the table top size I wanted), got the tree upstairs, and then attempted to get it into the stand. The stand that promises to be super easy for one person to use! With a picture of a woman on the box! My mother kept saying, "...maybe we should call [male neighbor]?" I was like, "We are strong women who don't need no man!!!" We did eventually figure out what was wrong, so that's exciting. Will decorate later this week.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just fumbled my iPad, grabbed it, and managed to end up catching it with the corner landing squarely on my surgical site.

owwwww.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Ow. Ow, ow, Dana!

And poor Consuela's brother!

Ow Dana!!

I made cookies with friends (and one friend made fudge and we helped make truffles) and then we went to a show...but it was with my other friend's exes. And then the not-ex friend posted us on FB. And now I feel bad my friend will see me hanging out with her exes and not with her. :(

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

OUCH to Consuela's brother and owie owie, owie to Dana.

The cookie swap went great! We have a TON of cookies that I need to organize into a few piles, including one to the local fire department. But that will have to wait for tomorrow.

School paper is submitted, I just need to wrap up a couple of things and then I have to do my work self evaluation tonight. Eeeeckkk, can't believe I missed getting that done before now.

My cookieswap was fun. I have samples of each in the freezer for when I can eat them.

50 minutes to food and water cutoff. Can I finish this bottle of water? Likely. Eat more oatmeal? Doubtful. I ate more today than usual (but it was just oatmeal) and I'm felling full still.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Holiday accomplishment:

I just made donations in my parents' names, who live in Ohio, to the OH ACLU and OH Planned Parenthood. That is their Christmas present!

I always do Heifer donations for the kids, and I took care of that today too. As well as little Amazon gifts as well. One nephew is into novelty socks, the other Transformer Lego, and I'm giving my niece the first three Anne of Green Gables books.

That's pretty much all the presents! Yay.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Since I am outta here on the 18th I really have to get everything finished this week.

Same. I think I'm done with my Christmas shopping except one more gift card.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oh, man, my poor brother. He slipped & fell in the snow last week and tore his quadriceps tendons.

Ayiyi!

Dana, try not to jab yourself in the recently open wounds.
