Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay, David!

brillig

Things you don't want to see in the traffic report as rush hour begins: "Mike says a wheel came off a truck and was rolling up I-15 NB near 4500S"

But I feel fine! I hate wasting good health.

Sink fixed and hair dyed. Back to brunette.

Now to do some Xmas shopping.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go Hec!

I am really bad at leaving work a little early. Sigh. Oh well, long lunch tomorrow. I am better at that.

I'm so remiss and lost in my own head.

Goodluccongratscrossed, David!

I'm running water in my sink and watching it not leak. And I think something is living in my kitchen ceiling. I can't even make this shit up.

Compassionately intolerant

The direction also asked federal offices to try to be closed on the 18th and 19th, which has never happened before.

Blergh. I'd give anything to be somewhere else...but I have nowhere to go that I could take Cagney.

Living 6 blocks from the Capitol has been a delight for the last 22 years. Right now? Not so much.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Digits crossed, Hec! Woot!

Isn't there a huge march planned on the Capitol on the 18th?

I'm so remiss and lost in my own head.

Pretty sure you have a good excuse for that.

I hope you can figure out some way to get out of town by January, beekaytee.

I did not make it to the post office, will try again tomorrow. But I DID make it to Target and picked up the gifts for my 9-year-old girl (jeggings, a sweater, a Moana doll [I haven't seen it but I hear it's good and the doll is cute] and a Project MC Ultimate Science Kit [I guess that's a show on Netflix? Kind of babysitter's club but science-y? IDK. The kit has a microscope and safety glasses, so I think it looks fun] and the batteries that were not included). I hope she likes it all. I went a little over budget, but that'll just be a little extra contribution from me.

And while I was waiting in line I got to talk to my niece who turns 18 today! No more minor children in my family. Weird. She was pleased that I donated to Standing Rock in her name, and also pleased that I also bought her actual gifts (which should be delivered to her some time in the next week or so, but she's used to that): mermaid leggings, peacock leggings and a wonder woman top because everyone needs a little more Wonder Woman right now. Lotus leggings was having a nice sale.

So, all in all a good day
