I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Boo to bookstores closing. Yay for son's GF's liking carrots!

Also yay for Mucinex. I spent all day Sunday in bed and worked from home yesterday mostly because getting dressed seemed oppressive but also coughing-sneezing-stuffy head etc., but I did manage to bundle up and get myself to Target where I bought cold medicine which is AWESOME. Although now I am at work where I am actually expected to work, apparently, which I am not really into today, but whatever.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

It's cold and grey and rainy and I would kill for a nap. (Yes, I work from home, but I still gotta do the "work" part, which is so unfair.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Steph, other editors, and perhaps academics--

What do you do when the source of your quote/definition/citation doesn't exactly make sense.

I am making flashcards for a course, and the content expert has provided me with definitions. However, when I read them, a few don't make grammatical or logical sense or they do not convey the actual definition of the word if you do not already have prior knowledge of what the word means or read the article to understand the context.

The instructor doesn't want to re-word because it won't be the same as the citation. Like, she understands that the definitions are confusing, but she is afraid of plagiarism.

I feel like you can re-word things as long as you don't quote them- also, this is for a set of flashcards!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Eeep, our licensing guy says his inside sources are saying that not only did our pitch go well, but that they want to Fast Track it. We'll officially know by the end of the week.

Our wings are not tired.

Not a editor or academic, but is there a 'based on' type citation where you can reword.

Awesome, David!
