I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

Cheese and pickle is a classic combination!

I'd be a horrible food judge. I sympathize very much with the bakers on GBBO who get told their food is too simple. "Simple this, Paul Hollywood!"

Jesse, that's awful. I'm sorry,

I guess if you like pickles, it's a good thing? (I don't care for pickles, except sweet pickles in tuna salad, so I wouldn't waste valuable cheese-eating stomach room on pickles, when I could just have more cheese.)

Our wings are not tired.

I am pro pickles in general, but if I were cheese tasting I wouldn't want it influenced by pickle.

I can definitely see some particular pickles going very well with specific cheeses, but if you're selling me on the benefits of $12 a pound cheese, let it speak for itself. (That French cheese two weeks ago is going on my regular buy list, but last week's cheese was bitter and salty and was not enhanced by the cinnamon-sugar whole wheat cracker it was served on.)

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The acidity helps to cut the fatty mouthfeel, which lets you eat more cheese. MOAR PICKLES PLEEZ. (Though if it's a fancy cheese, maybe they should be cornichons?)

I think I prefer olives or figs with cheese. Unless also paired with a hamburger.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't think I've been offered cheese and pickles as a tasting thing. Have not been offered a cheese sample in a while though, I may be out of touch.

My new grocery store is part of the same chain as my old grocery store, but it definitely is appealing to a more affluent demographic. Then again, my old store is only a couple of miles from Brigham Young University and is always full of poor students. I kind of miss the Friday night/Saturday show of single people scoping each other out over the shopping carts. I enjoyed watching the girls fixing their makeup before going into the store.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Agreed. I don't like bitter or sharp cheeses anyway.
