Just did a bunch of Christmas shopping at one table at the local flea, but I'm not 100% sure everyone else will love this person's style like I do. Oh well!

I think there is something wrong with me. I am listening to the Hamiliton Mixtape and am weeping. It is just so beautiful and important. And then I think I am crazy. And I don't think I am emotionally capable of watching the show live, because I might make weeping noises.

Jesse, I hadn't realized the blood was newish. I'd probably take her to the ER vet because it is possible she's swallowed something like a needle that is causing the blood. They might want to do an x-ray to see if they can see a problem and, possibly, exploratory surgery.

I have mixed feelings about exploratory surgery. I had one elderly cat with vomiting issues that the vet wanted to "look around" and I refused because of her age. In retrospect, if I had consented to surgery they might have found the tumor earlier and removed it before it had taken over. On the other hand, the tumor grew so slow that it was really her kidneys that got her in the end.

All of which comes down to - you do your best and hope.

Yeah, I wouldn't have any kind of surgery for her (she's 14), but of course I would like for her to be comfortable! She was at the vet last week, who didn't see anything specific, so the next test she offered up was an ultrasound. IME, the ultrasound just leads to a surgical biopsy and I'm not doing that, so I want to talk to her to see what she thinks about palliative care regardless of what's actually going on.

Well she's obsessed with dolls and stuffed animals, but she's never had a porcelain doll before. We are leaving the majority of her dolls and stuffed animals here because we don't have space in our luggagehen we move. So yes... she'd like it. But I worry she will break it and then I'd feel bad. She's only six. Lol

I don't think an ultrasound is painful, but do they have to sedate her to get her to stay still? I'm always more worried about the anesthesia than the surgery.

Ultimately, Annie did have surgery because the tumor was blocking her bowels, and she had no problems recovering. But it only bought her about 6 more months before her kidneys failed. So a lot of it has to depend on what else is going on with the cat.

Yeah, it's the sedation. And the money, frankly.

Callaluna. I think she should have it. As far as porcelain dolls go, this is an inexpensive and not old one, so no worries. Send me your address where you will be in US. It will be waiting for her.

Ended up buying a new watch, as the guy at the watch place said it would cost about the same amount to buy a new one as it would to fix the watch and replace the band. (It was a rather old watch- I think I got it as a graduation gift.)
