Dear Union Memorial Hospital , It would be reaaaaaly helpful if the presurgical packets you sent out contained current info. You no longer run a perioperative clinic thingy, so don't ask me to call them to run tests required before surgery.

Dear Surgeon's admin assistant, Before you sent it out to me, an admitted surgery newbie, it woulda been helpful if you clarified whether the er did all these tests (I think so? But I don't speak medical) so I could ignore all this, considering you sent me down for a chest X-ray,"since the er didn't" or at least call me back and let me know if I need to make another appt in the next week.

All in all, small beans, but I'm a reasonably competent, privileged and together adult, and I've never done this shit before, how the fuck am I supposed to know? For folks with more challenging backgrounds, this is a recipe for fucked over and/or frustration for both patients and staff. And I've been largely impressed with Union's efficiency and process, once you are in the building. Staff has been nothing but awesome.

But someone needs to review their informational shit.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

sara, I hate that kind of shit. One of my schools hasn't updated their teacher list webpage since last school year, which is less than helpful, but not anywhere near the same scale.

My bf is staying with his parents in Arizona through the holidays (I head over after the semester is done), so the house is very quiet. I have already reached the point where it is no longer a nice change of pace.

I also got my flu shot, so Longs gave me a coupon, so I did some shopping. I bought some cereal and ate some for dinner. I never get cereal since milk is so expensive.

Does anyone else mix their cereals? Like a whole bowl of frosted mini wheats sounds boring, but a whole bowl of the vanilla almond whatever sounds excessive, so a mix is nice. Just me?

I just want my fucking gallbladder and attendant monsterous stone out. It twinged me today, not cramps or pain, just hiyas Sara! I'm a problem! Feel me?

10 more days.

Also, learned that the only other history of this was my maternal grandmother. And one of my cousins in that line had hers out too, and like me, had no lifestyle explanations as to why she got hit, and hers was way younger than me (though she'd had 3 kids..)

Nope, I totally mix. In fact I lament my favored three cereal mix which is no longer possible.

But now I mix Trader Joe's Maple Shredded bite sized wheats with Product 19 (ideally with blueberries).

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I have been feeling miserable with my horrendous cold all week and my DH has been off in Spain driving Lexuses around so I have dog and cat duty. Today, I got threatened by an employee at his exit interview, yelled at by the COO , worked like a dog to get all the shit done I needed to finish before I leave for my MOm's on Sunday, and then got home to realize the ONE master chart I need to do my remote work is still at the office, so I have to drive back there tomorrow.

Grrr.

Ugh, what a day, Scrappy! Sucks so hard to be sick alone.

I am very sorry for myself, so there's that.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

All in all, small beans, but I'm a reasonably competent, privileged and together adult, and I've never done this shit before, how the fuck am I supposed to know?

Ack. I had written you a long paragraph about things to expect based on my experience but then didn't post it because I worried I'd be bringing you down or worry you unduly. But one of the things I wrote about was this kind of stuff. This shit is so routine for surgeons and medical staff that they have completely forgotten how patients experience things. So lots of stuff is left unsaid and if you haven't experienced it before or heard from folks who have, you often don't even know which questions to ask.

Congratulations, billytea. Also congrats to msbelle for water. Water is life.

Tanked my chem exam, I'm sure. Have one "quiz" and the final left. Final is cumulative so I am really up Excrement Creek without a certain implement. Can't find a tutor I can trust/afford and this class makes me feel so shitty about myself that the procrastination is on a level Homer could write about.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

David, I have some bad news for you: Product 19 is discontinued .

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

It's Saturday and I've already been up for an hour. Dog jumped on the bed and me and then threw up. And I have an unnatural amount of grading to finish. And I have to go supervise a field trip on a Saturday.
