Apparently there's a big legal distinction between Rosenstein being fired or resigning.
If he resigns then Trump can put anybody he wants into the position.
If he's fired that sets off a much bigger process.
So as long as Rosenstein can hold out...
Fucking hell. This feels like an all out coup attempt by the Republicans at this point, before the election.
CNN says he and Trump will meet Thursday.
Or what I said just a bit upthread, David.
It certainly sounds like Trump tried to force him to resign, but Rosenstein called his bluff.
I certainly hope so. Fuck that guy, man.
Or what I said just a bit upthread, David.
That's what I get for skipping ahead!
WaPo alert: Rosenstein to stay in job; will meet with 45 on Thursday, White House says.
Every time I think this can't become any more of a shitshow, the WH throws more shit on the wall.
But I already have Thursday scheduled to be stressed out about the Supreme Court confirmation!
Stress is like jello, there's always room for more.
I suspect the path of least resistance for Trump is the one his advisers will try to convince him to follow. Noel Francisco is right up his alley.
After the movie trailers, those of us who were left were released from jury duty. If I were a better person, I'd log into work. Instead, I'm considering a nap.
