I think slowing things down would be the smartest play because confirming him and then having allegations get collaborated and have new ones come out would be a disaster.
You would think, but this group of GOP old men are completely short term oriented. Get him confirmed. Period. Clearly the impeachment process hasn't been used enough. My first hope is that after these women have been heard and believed they go forward with a vote and he loses. If he doesn't withdraw or lose, then I hope he gets impeached after outrage overflows and his lies in confirmation are used for impeachment.
With more coffee I could say that with less words.
Also, air travel with one under seat bag is the best. In the 6 flights I took to FL and LA I had just a soft underseat bag, and took a zillion of the airborne vitamin drinks, which may or may not have helped me to not get the ick.
At jury duty. Their WiFi blocks all social sites, including this one, and my phone isn't charged. FML.
It will be terrible for all of these women (and we know there are multiple, right?), but I kind of want them all to testify, because we need to run out the fucking clock.
Yes. The smart thing for the GOP to do right now would be for Kavenaugh to step down so someone else can be confirmed before the midterms. So I want the Dems to make these hearings last FOREVER.
Ack, Dana!! Can you charge your phone?
What is the point of WiFi if it blocks social sites?? "Here jurors, go read the news sonif we ask if you read about this case you say yes and we can kick you off"?
Johnathan Swan at Axios is reporting that Rosenstein is resigning. Swan did a podcast a couple of weeks ago with Preet Bharara that was great, but I do love Preet & his Pod. [link]
The breaking news is all over the place - Rosenstein is about to resign, Rosenstein is about to be fired, Rosenstein has already resigned, Rosenstein will not resign.
Also, since I won't have anyplace to stow luggage during the last day of the conference I had to pack everything (including CPAP) into a backpack.
Too late now, but hotels generally will stow your bags after checkout until you're ready to go.
I didn't know that, but that's good to know. Thanks. Still, just having a backpack sure makes getting around easy.
Noel Francisco stepping in to oversee the Muller investigation is just . . . not something I want to think about.
