Mmm, fresh eggs.
If today were Thursday I would be even further behind than I already am.

How awake am I today? [context: in Hebrew "ants" and "ports" are spelled the same but sound different due to diacritics.] So I read this morning the sentence "Correction to The 1951 Ants Ordinance" and thought what the hell was up with the ants in 1951, until the third read uncovered that it was The 1951 Ports Ordinance.
Also, sign me up to Cindy's cranky corner. And Bev, I hear you re: back then when the world made sense. I can only hope that some of the chaos is for the better, and that because we're such wonderfully imperfect storytellers we'd be able to figure out a coherent narrative out of it.
New dishwasher. Woo.
I definitely need to get stuff done today. *goes back to faffing around in the internet and watching Buzzfeed Unsolved*
TCG got fresh eggs in week 1 of presumably a non-chicken-related job? That sounds amazing!!
I just had to kill a spider, and I blame all of your spider talk for that.
Jesse, it's a town job but in a very rural town.

I love this. We already loved the new job for the commute, but lovely coworkers is icing on top.
I'm assuming this is not a "your paycheck this week takes the form of eggs" situation.
My agenda for today includes a department meeting, a meeting with my supervisor, a meeting with another department to fine tune a process that is kind of a mess, last minute whatever to not leave my backups with too much chaos in my accounts, laundry, packing, arranging the continued feeding of the cats, mowing the lawn, calling my dad to wish him a happy birthday, and hopefully getting some sleep before getting myself to the airport by 8:30 tomorrow morning (looks like catching the 6:12 train is the most efficient way to do that). Whee.
But then sincerely whee! once all that is done!
We're all trying to get stuff done before Hurricane Flo makes landfall. I'm pretty sure we're far enough inland to be out of the worst of it, but the university is closing tomorrow at noon. (Which I appreciate. We're still expecting a lot of rain and flooding, and that would play havoc with my commute.)
Last night I used a service to pick up groceries for me. I had a first-time free delivery coupon code and a strong desire to not fight crowds for the last of the crackers. The shopper spent over 45 minutes in line at check out. I tipped her really well and considered it money well spent. Barring health or transportation issues, I don't see myself using this service regularly, but I'm definitely a fan.
