I'm kind of glad it's cold and rainy today, because it's not "9/11 weather", you know?
Yes, exactly. I was definitely around the board on 9/11 but don't remember if I posted much or just read with relief when people checked in.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

And in much lighter fare, what to have for lunch.
When in doubt: burrito. But if you have a Fancy Salad place nearby you could get one with grilled salmon or chicken on it.
About four or five years ago I got to know a woman whose husband died in the 9/11 attacks.
She was on the phone with him until the end. He was on one of the floors up above where the plane hit.
One of the things that struck me most was that she had to leave NYC because she got completely emotionally exhausted by being a "professional widow" as she put it. She was a 9/11 widow and was trotted out once a year for the great public grieving. Became impossible for her to continue her life like that. Her in-laws never got over it and there was a lot of pressure on her not to date or marry somebody else.
All this strange cultural pressure for her to be frozen in time, at the worst moment of her life.
Oh, msbelle, that is a terrible year indeed. Poor guy.
I have ravioli with asparagus for lunch, but I kinda want a bag of chips right now.
I have taken the rest of the day off of work, so I am happy to talk like in the old days.
I think I want a top round steak and zucchini for lunch, but I will have to go to the grocery store. Which might be nice
I will be having soup I made last night, which is white bean and kale with ground pork.
A sports journalist on Twitter retweeted a photo that isn't exactly graphic, but is really terrible, and I did not appreciate that. I hope everyone who needs to avoid remembrances can do so.
Took the mornig off for a doctor appointment. I have osteopenia and vitamin d deficiency and slightly elevated blood pressure. Bah!
Now I have yet another prescription, must take massive doses of V-D, and start walking again. Bah!
I solved the perishable dilemma by tossing all my veggies into a soup pot. I'll just freeze the results. Lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, celery, garlic. I think that is all the solids.
Ugh. I'm going to avoid Facebook for today because I just saw people I know (local people, not Buffistas) pulling the "well *I* suffered more on 9/11 than *anyone*, because XYZ reason." Oh my god.
I recognize their genuine pain and I'm very sorry they experienced that, but when you make your pain into the Olympics so you can be the big winner (or, I don't know, if you experienced the Most Pain EVAR, does that make you the big loser?), I am not there for that. Just...don't do that.
I'll stick around here today. And, you know, actually do some work.
I'm kind of glad it's cold and rainy today, because it's not "9/11 weather", you know?
Totally. I'm also glad we moved our primary to last week because of the holidays, I guess? So I'm not voting and it's raining.
I had a salad for lunch.
