I'm kind of glad it's cold and rainy today, because it's not "9/11 weather", you know?
Natter 75: More Than a Million Natters Served
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Getting cozy and having a nap is a primo idea.
Much love to you all. I wasn't here until a few months after 9/11, but I know how much that day is part of the community's deepest memories, and it's one of the places I always turn to.
I think I was here a couple years after 9/11 because Deena's eldest was born on 9/11 and she was pregnant with her second when I started posting regularly.
I'm so sorry Sophia.
Nothing can be done about the flood of memories. I was working out with my Brooklyn native friend when she got a phone call. She was cursing her friend out because she didn't believe her and thought it was a really poor taste joke. Bracing ourselves for having to explain it to our 7 and 9 year old kids.
Like amych it was after that day that I found you. Searching on the internet for something not news.
Also, always remember that it is Trudy's birthday today as well as another close friend.
It seems like you were all here then, but it really was a long time ago and not so long after TT.
I always return to B.org on 9/11 to read the posts from that day
I always re-read those posts on 9/11, too.
It seems like you were all here then
Seriously. Laura? amych? You must have been there.
Do we have the posts archived in a special place or do I just search the regular archives. I remember it so clearly
I ended up calling 311, wrapped Kitty in her blanket, put in a box, and waited by the curb with her until they came. I think it was awkward for the pick up guys because I don't think people are normally there. I didn't think they would be so quick.
