Oh, at first it was confusing. Just the idea of computers was like — whoa! I'm eleven hundred years old! I had trouble adjusting to the idea of Lutherans.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Today I saw the nurse practitioner at my regular doctor's office. She was gobsmacked when she saw the x-ray of my leg. She gave me a prescription for all the painkillers she was allowed to prescribe, and recommended a surgeon. It happened to be the same surgeon two of my often injured karate friends recommended, so I'm going with him. Also he's at the hospital complex 10 minutes from my house so that's excellent.

As for menopause and hot flashes, I've been in perimenopause for, seems like 5 or 6 years now. I'm always too hot. The slightest thing I do makes me sweat. I keep my house at 68 or 69 degrees Fahrenheit. I'd like to actually have menopause and be done with this.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I started menopause around 42-43. My dad was dying at the time, so in between caring for him, going from hospital chill to senior living establishment over-heating, and going on antidepressants to deal with everything, I didn't really notice the process of menopause. I can't really recommend this as a coping method, though.

Before menopause, I disliked temperatures over 80 and was fine down to ~50 F. Now that I'm on the other side I hate temperatures over 80 and I'm fine down to ~50F.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Zenkitty, you deserve ALL THE PAINKILLERS. Or, well, legal amounts that won't cause respiratory depression and kill you. But right up to that line.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, you deserve all the painkillers, but that means you have to post every day so we'll know you are okay. Loopy posting is also acceptable. I saw those x-rays and it hurt just looking at that break.

Thanks for worrying about me.
