That's the thrill of living in the Hellmouth! There's a veritable cornucopia of fiends and devils and ghouls to engage ... Pardon me for finding the glass half-full.

Thanks! My friends came over for patio party, and persevered through sudden chill and wind, and everyone left by 9:30, because I am officially old. It was great.

Not great--my one tonsil has been all painful and swollen feeling the last couple days, and tonight I suddenly felt like it was a sharp pain--tried to look with flashlight, and it seems I have like, a blister on my tonsil or something? WTF body. Also, ow. I had a thing removed from the same tonsil a few months ago (and it cost like, $700 after insurance even! But was biopsied and was not anything bad) so I am side-eyeing hard.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy belated birthday, meara! You share a birthday with one of my favorite persons.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That does not sound like a great birthday present, meara! Ugh.

Our wings are not tired.

Eeep, no fun. I hope it calmed down overnight. Does salt water help?

Oh, make them here! We enjoy the snarky replies.

One poster keeps pointing out the super obvious and another keeps stating where he thinks Milton has "misinterpreted" the Bible. Both are super annoying. I have to look over the other students annotations of the text as part of the assignment.

I get that there are mixed feelings about John McCain. I do have to say that I just skipped through the cable news channels, and all, including Fox News, are carrying the events live today, and I expect they will tomorrow and Saturday too. My inner super petty self knows this really pisses off the bogus potus, and therefore delights me.

In news closer to home, DH left today for Florida. He is swinging by the city to see his sister then headed to Cape May to take the ferry route, just because. He says he can catch a nap that way.

My son communicated with me some yesterday after another one of his friends visited and let him know I was going to keep sending people by to see him until I was satisfied that he was okay. He swears he is still going to work and that he is okay other than being in hermit mode. Says he has money for rent and power and so forth. His brother will check on him tonight or tomorrow, then his dad will be back by the weekend to lay eyes on him for me. He even posted a picture on FB to show how long his hair has grown, which is very, as is the beard. So I am feeling better. Particularly since he understands and has accepted the message that I will pester and involve friends and family as needed when he goes off grid.
