Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Friday is my regularly scheduled 9/80 day off, so that's nice. Yay 4 day weekend!

Getting through the remaining 3 days pf this week is still a challenge, though.

ETA and I still need to call my dr office. Better do that now...

And reached a person who is going out of her way to get me an appointment before October. I actually wouldn't mind waiting until October, but I might need a refill before then. Should count my pills and see.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Didn't Australia once have a prime minister get eaten by a shark? I vaguely remember hearing that years ago ... or he went in swimming and didn't come out?

We did! That was Harold Holt, a Liberal Party PM from the '60s. He was a keen ocean swimmer, headed out one day in rough conditions and disappeared without trace. One conspiracy theory opines that he was picked up by a submarine and defected to China.

Anyway, given that he was believed to have drowned at sea, naturally he is commemorated in his home city of Melbourne by the Harold Holt Memorial Swimming Centre.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Hot here. Nothing like getting into your car(which has been parked on the top level of the parking garage all day) and seeing the temperature is 104 F. Not that I want winter. (Fall will do just fine)

Ugh, Sheryl. I have the hardest time trying to convince ltc to get into her carset when we first get in the car in the summer.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I feel like Dana on a terrible conference call, 12 hours off. In this case, it's an activist thing, and they just unmuted everyone, and all we can hear is a dog barking and also a Barack Obama speech?? I wish people would figure out how to mute their own phones!

brillig

I looked around the local MeetUp website, and it's depressing how this organized socializing thing isn't set up for people who work till 6 PM. Fun activity at 3:30 PM Wednesday! Regular meeting Tuesday at 5--and 40 minutes away from work, and I almost never get out the door on the dot of 6. I will not be That Person who shows up halfway through the event and has to have everything recapped for them. Feh.

Our wings are not tired.

Apparently only people retired or at leisure can socialize. Feh indeed.

Florida had their primary yesterday. I had 10 races and my results were 6/10. Some of the choices were tough so not unhappy with the results. In the Governor spot I had gone for Gwen Graham, daughter of Bob Graham, believing that she had the best chance in November. The winner was Andrew Gillum, and I could not be more pleased. The reason he won was that the kids came out in droves and voted for him. He is the progressive Bernie endorsed candidate. The Parkland youth have registered massive numbers of kids that were absent in the vote in 2016. Not only did they get them registered, they got them out to vote in a primary. Gives me hope for the future. He was ahead in none of the polls, and yet he won. Now if Nelson can remain our senator on his coattails that would be dandy.

Wouldn't it be nice for Florida to be a good political story in November?

It would indeed.

Could not get to sleep last night until around 3. Bah.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc is at school! TCG took Monday off so we could take her to her first day together. So today is the first day where the full impact of having 4 hours to myself is sinking in.
