Watching US Open coverage, and there is an Australian tennis player called Duckworth. Naturally the (male) commentator calls him "The Duck."

Bless "Making It" for selecting a Vietnamese-American half-Goth dude as one of the crafters.
That guy is so awesome.
I really thought he would be eliminated before now, though. His Halloween door was AWESOME, but I still worried that he would be eliminated.
I was going to say earlier, I feel like they make it pretty obvious who's going to be eliminated, which I find very relaxing.
Loved the Starships vid, but I kept wondering why there wasn't any footage from The Expanse, which does spaceships =right=. Then I realized the vid was from 2012, so OK.
Couple of new employees in a neighboring department. One of them is named Larry and kinda resembles Park&Rec Jerry/Garry/Larry. I'm gonna have to be careful about that.
Only thing better than Starships is Starships at a fan con dance.
Timelies all!
As my FIL has gone back home, things are what passes for normal around here.
I did remember to go to the nail place, and the desk guy (owner? who knows) was skeptical, but one of the ladies helped me! Phew.
Hi, I just read (mostly) over 1000 post. Can't remember anything I was going to say.
Frost on my lawn this morning! Winter is getting its last licks in.
Wait, wait. Does this mean that Morrison could be replaced as PM after a matter of days?!
Not from the preferred PM question, it's just an opinion poll. But the ousted PM, Malcolm Turnbull, has indeed handed in his resignation. He'll be gone by the end of the week. There'll be a by-election. Turnbull held the seat comfortably, but it was more marginal before he became member; plus, by-elections are usually hard for the govt, even when it's not devolved into a cack-handed circus. With Turnbull's resignation, the Libs no longer have a majority in Parliament. There are cross-benchers supporting them, but if that changes, we could be forced to the polls.
Incidentally, Morrison's set about appointing his cabinet and it seems well designed to capitulate to the plotters and lose the electorate. He's put an opponent of renewable energy in charge of the Energy portfolio and a former mining employee takes Environment. (And he's split the two, clearly they have nothing to do with each other.) He's promoted two women to the ministry, but the only senior woman, Julie Bishop, is gone. She was Foreign Minister and deputy leader of the Libs and also threw her hat in the ring for the leadership. She was first eliminated as she was kind of popular with the electorate and that's a no-no in the modern Liberal Party, and is expected to leave Parliament at the next election.
