I've been working on getting my classes all set up for the semester. I'm stuck in the middle of ridiculousness with putting captions on my class videos. We all had to take a seminar about online accessibility, which included telling us that all our videos MUST be captioned. And I agree! Videos should be captioned! So, I try to put captions on my videos. It turns out that there's no way for me to access the captioning system unless one of my students has a disability form which specifically requires captions as an accommodation. There are a couple of work-arounds, but they all include downloading and uploading the videos several times each, which I totally don't have time to do when I've got around 10-15 videos per week altogether.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
(well, Gary and I go to work, Mr. S goes to daycare)
Slacker. (Mr. S. Not you and Gary)
Seriously. I can only imagine someone getting your application and going, "wait, we could get her ????"
Right?! I'll bet there was squee-ing.
For those who need an adorable kitty break, I posted a short video of Miss Erzabet No Biting over on FB.
Skipping more than a bit
Hil, that's frustrating.
Meanwhile, at work: I was assigned cataloging items in Persian and in Judeo-Persian. I know neither. And I have questions.
In theory, today is the rescheduled machine learning webinar. So far...the webinar has not started.
Ha, my coworker pinged me just as I was about to ping her, since we were both paranoid that something was wrong with our connection. Nope, they were just starting several minutes late.
I have my last supply chain mgmt class today and I have actually done the reading! By skipping the, um, 5 sections I managed to get behind, but still, ready for discussion of physical distribution and continuous improvement.
I would say the word Quality has lost all meaning but I'm not altogether certain it had much to begin with.
So it turns out my AT&T plan includes all of North America now, which means unlimited internets here at the cabin!
As a precaution, I've deleted everything fun from my phone (all games and social media) so I wont be tempted to dive back into real life while I'm here on my annual modernity detox. But I haven't deleted Chrome so I can still keep up here.
I endorse the excluding everything but Buffistas plan.
We went to see Crazy Rich Asians at the charming local theater last night. Was disappointed. It could be that it just didn't live up to my expectations. Various performances were excellent, but some parts were just too OTT for me.
ION, my fingers are chilly. Not quite 70 in here today and looks like it will be chilly for a couple more days. Getting some use out of the heavy clothes.
Hi Jess! Glad we made the cut.
I feel like I ought to see Crazy Rich Asians but I kind of hate the title and rom-coms just don't get me in to the theater these days. I'm sure I'll watch it on a small screen eventually and probably like it.
Which train of thought got me to Fandango because it is cheap movie day, after all, which got me an ad for Cache Creek featuring Jim Belushi and that is just cracking me up...he's the "the dictionary defines..." of comedians!
