'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

And with the shorter commute come a bunch of savings in gas & car depreciation. YOu might even get a slight break on car insurance, because some insurance policies give a break for less car use.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

10 minute commute is awesome!

Our wings are not tired.

Short commute is a huge benefit, worth a whole lot more than $ to me! Congrats!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That change in commute is huge. Congrats!

Coding and Sleeping

Had to take in my care for a flat-repair this weekend and it turned into two new tires. However, it was cheaper than I was expecting and those tires weren't all that far from needing to be replaced anyhow so it wasn't too bad.

Not sure about the future of my car. We were thinking of giving it to my son but he doesn't like driving it much (mostly because it's a manual). There's a chance it'll be a case of "too bad, you're getting a car and you'll get used to it". We could also end up getting him a cheap car and I'll just keep mine. With him working now, it would be a lot easier on everybody for him to have a car. Either way, we're going to be betting on putting a lot more miles on a car that already has 240,000 miles.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Oh lawd, my flight from Chicago is currently delayed an hour, and they just announced that we could also sit on the tarmac for an hour and twenty minutes after that. Then we all got texts telling us it was due to thunderstorms in Texas.

Several people heading to New York had flights canceled and rebooked for tomorrow, but honestly, that might be better than being stuck here forever. (Except I don't mean that I want to be stuck here forever and then have the flight canceled, please do not smite me, travel gods.)

I had a nice guy going to Southwest Air this weekend who had been delayed by 8 hours, but the airline said "get here early and we might be able to send you standby." So he was prepared to spend as much time as necessary.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm annoyed by how much of my newsfeed is being spent on Omarosa. Every single thing she says may be true, but she still has zero credibility. But mostly I am annoyed by the constant ability of this administration to fill the news with distractions.

In Laura world, I am surprised that DH is still in Otter Lake. His initial plan was to go home the 1st of the month. Hmmm. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy his company, but wonder about the condition of the FL house, and the contents of the fridge. I did ask my son to mow the lawn, water my inside plants, and bring in the mail. He is clearly in avoiding work mode since he has spent weeks working on renovating the boat, detailing my family members' cars, and other diversions. I am just an observer here. His pattern is often working on manual projects until he is able to focus on his real job.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Hooray, Teacups! Good luck, Dana!

My annual review is this afternoon. Wish me... something positive.
