Our wings are not tired.

I recently was reminiscing with a middle aged friend of my family who fortunately ended up being named Matt Ball. Prior to his birth his parents, another couple, and my boyfriend and I had a very stoned conversation about potential names. His Dad had only one request; he refused to have him named after his Uncle Harry. That started the cascade of potential awful names. Foot and Base of course, Roland and Earnest were also rejected, along with a slew of others. We thought his mother would deliver on the spot she was laughing so hard. Matt did say that if he ever had a sister she would have been named Crystal because she liked that option so much.

If I had a daughter she would have been named Victoria Holt. When I changed my name in marriage I knew that was going to be an option and would have done it.

Worst name inflicted on a friend in HS was Candy Cane. I'm guessing she changed it if she married, but not exactly the kind of name I could Google to find out.

hip deep in pie

There's a former Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador named Randy Ball.

A friend met a woman in the Southern US named Happy Boozer.

Weird names from my family: Expedite Howard, and Prime Power (one of my great-grandfathers).

My other great-grandfather was Prosper Ozon, but I think Prosper isn't intensely unusual in France. What's weird is I once found a self-published novel online where the main character's name was Prosper Ozone.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

My Hungarian grandfather's uncle was Árpád. In Hebrew, Arpad means vampire (not the same pronunciation, and yet). It still brings me joy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Didn't ita have a relative whose last name was Moyston-Cummings? Sometimes I still laugh about that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My grandfather's family had a habit of naming the boys after a city near where they were born- Uncle Reno is the main one I can remember. When my grandpa was born, they lived in a logging camp up by Weed. He was officially Guido, but everyone called him Weed and when he was 18 he legally changed it.

Our wings are not tired.

At least this Monday morning is better for us than for the white supremacist crowd. Seriously, I find it somewhat encouraging that at least they might be starting to be ashamed/afraid to show their faces in public.

I feel certain that there is something calling itself Pelvic Thunder out there. I'm not going to google it, though.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Congrats to the whole teacup household!
