I knew about Dr. Electron Kebebew! Probably because I have a minor obsession with unusual names, and follow the Tournament of Naming [link] religiously. (It's an annual ritual to try and read through the brackets without having to stop due to inability to breathe and sore tummy. The runner-up this year was Dr. Narwhals Mating.)

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
That's the best name ever.
Way back when I was a CSR, I kept a list of the oddest names I came across. The kid named Kozmyk Moses is the only one I still remember.
I ran across a D. J. Moo the other year. He wrote a scholarly article on a religious topic, but I like to think of him spinning tunes in a cow suit.
Timelies all!
It's been raining on and off here today. Went out in the morning, but not in the afternoon. (I took a nap)
with siblings named Positron, Neutron, Deutron and Proton
Those are amazing. The OG nuclear family.
Tiny bit of housecleaning today. I'm gonna feed myself some dinner and then list things on ebay for the rest of the evening.
The Druid Hill Country Club swim is at Roosevelt, in Hampden, this weekend, because Druid is closed. I figured it'd be sparsely attended, and in the back of my head, I wondered something. The core, die hard CCers are mostly retired black folk. They are the heart of DHCC. Hampden, in their lifetime, has been a place they did not feel welcome (it's come up.)
There were 0 nonwhite ppl there this morning.
It could be a lot of other reasons, you know, but here? You have to WORK to ignore the ways white supremacy sneaks into everything. And many do.
And hey, a cop beat the shit out of another black man here today [link] & the Same old song & dance. I really think the BPD should be disbanded & LEOBR in MD revoked. (Edit to get acronym right.)
BPD is a mess.
Well, fuck, sarameg, that is terrible. All of it.
I see what you did there, aurelia. Well played.
I love the people of this city & the city as it is a whole of those people, am blown away at the resourcefulness, but the institutions are broken, if not at times deliberately parasitic, & hold it down.
