Sounds like you have sussed it out, msbelle.
Hi, Zen! Yay new car for good reason!
So, on my way home I noticed that I could see 4 helicopters at once, which is unusual (typical number of helicopters that I see in a day would be zero, more than one at a time is Something). Just got a Nicole text that there are evacuations due to grass fire. Not super close to me, but I guess I am under an alert. I just hope they get it managed soon.
6pm - too early to just go to bed? That's not being alert, but I'm tired.
I'd AAA or whatever it, get it fixed.
And not tell him.
But I'm petty & not a parent. And it our house, there wasn't any question that I was responsible for basic maintenance of the car I used ( aka, mom said ' it needs an oil change, take it in after school, I'll pay you back.')
Thanks, Zen. Congrats on the new ride.
The car started the second time I turned the key. I've tried since Sunday evening more than twice, so I have NO IDEA. It is not the battery. Intermittent failures to start, probably the mechanic's favorite thing to try and fix. I'll be taking it in on Monday for an oil change and have them do a once over once again.
Since I posted that and got the car started, I took it for a drive, filled it up, cleaned out his trash and put all the car stuff I bought him in the trunk and put the "top" on the trunk in the hatchback, the cover, I guess. It was just on the floor. He has made no attempt to do anything with the car.
And then I cleaned out the garage. I was gonna wash both cars, but the cleaning took a while and it's after 9 now, so cars maybe washed tomorrow. The good news is, now both cars fit in the garage with plenty of room. YAY.
That is awesome, msbelle! Fitting both cars in the garage is always an accomplishment in my book.
Not only have I MET Doctor Electron, I have also been medically served by his sister, Doctor Positron. She was very nice about me asking if they have a physicist parent. Why yes, indeed they do.
They probably fight crime after their day job at the clinic fighting disease.
Katie Bee, I'm going to believe you on that since Dr. Electron is in California. For real.
(I don't want to know if it's a joke. Give me my delusions!)
The evacuation order was lifted around midnight. Whew!
Off to not walk a 5k. Pretty sure that pain in my left heel is tendinitis, so I'm resting it as much as I can, but I'm already signed up for this race so I will go and hang out at the start/finish while my parents no doubt earn their age group medals.
