Timelies all!
Tomorrow we head off on vacation. It's actually two trips with a day at home in between.(To do laundry and such.) First trip is to a resort in the Hudson Valley. My MIL turned 75 and wanted to do a family trip. Second trip is Worldcon in San Jose. I should have wi-fi in both places to some degree, so I won't be completely off-line.
Ah, the denial, deflect, and then accuse the accuser of something. Classic.
My kid, nothing if not textbook.
12 months until he is moved out.
So there are thunderstorms around tonight, but if it doesn't actually rain, I really have to water the yard. Right now I hear thunder/see lightning, but no rain. I should wait a while, right?
OK, it is actually raining, at least a little, so that's good.
Talking about it does make it happen.
I have figured out that my cousin is actually mad at capitalism, I guess? Her complaint seems to be that companies shouldn't be able to completely squash someone's right to express themselves. Putting aside the fact that this is Alex Jones...if you're mad that companies act in their own best interests, then you need to blame capitalism.
I'd vote wait! There are enough small cell t-storms in NE right now, one is bound to hit. My backyard got a sprinkle earlier, and I'm less than a mile from you.
Also I'm seeing some lightning out there!
Also, a small but cool thing from Lyfting this week: I picked up a young couple who had two huge wheelie duffels, plus backpacks, who had Logan as their destination. "Where are you going, Peru?" I said, which is my standard "far away place" suggestion.
"How did you know?" said the guy, REALLY confused.
I broke up laughing because how often does that happen?
Anyway, yes, they really were going there for the rest of the month, because his sister had a baby there and they were going to have a nice extended visit and then they were coming back to MA only to pick up their car and U-Haul and head out for CA.
Some people have all the adventure. :-) I live vicariously.
Yes! It's still raining! I watered the plants with my mind.
"How did you know?" said the guy, REALLY confused.
That is fantastic.
Ah, the denial, deflect, and then accuse the accuser of something. Classic.
And they always wonder why we know the pattern.
Well done with the rainmaking, Jesse.
That is awesome, Theodosia.
Morning randomness, my neighbor Omar is Peruvian and whenever he goes home he brings me back chocolate, because he is a most precious neighbor! Which reminds me that I need to bring him back some maple sugar treats when I head back.
I had a dream last night that I was watching the Buffy reboot and it was so nice to have a full-on watch'n'post again. (In my dream, Buffy was a faceless tiny blonde girl who was riding on a futuristic Hogwarts train towards an unspecified Hellmouth. When she got off the train she had the scythe and a dramatic swingy coat.)
