Man, Sue, you guys have been through a lot.

It's been a bad week for my family elders. My dad had the gall bladder attack, my 94 year old aunt, who is receiving palliative care for cancer, fell and broke her hip, and my 100 year old aunt had a heart attack and had to have a stent inserted to open a blockage.

Personally, I'd like my dad to have a month without a trip to the ER.

Gud! I've been where you are! I got to the point of throwing up and having an off-duty nurse grab me by the arm and drag me into the ER! I hope you had better self-awareness that I did and that you don't spend three days of doctors frowning you like I did.

Well Making It was pleasant enough, GBBO with a floral slipcover over it. I hope the contestants get to interact more, because that's what I like best about GBBO. The Etsy trend person makes me twitch a little bit, and it feels like there are a bunch of Mommy Blogs peeking around the corner just dying to be cutesy. At least with food the primary point is that it tastes good and won't poison anyone, it doesn't have to mean something or speak to someone's dreams and aspirations.

Gud! I'm not happy you had to go to the hospital, but I'm super glad you went and are getting the good drugs.

Health~ma for Sue's dad. I don't have strategies to help with passive-aggressive relatives except, you know, to suggest therapy which probably wouldn't go over well.

I do not like corporate retreats with team-building activities because they rarely involve things I enjoy doing.

I can live with a day of team-building now and then, mostly because it's a break from the routine. Although the closest my office gets to that sort of thing is going out to lunch together, which we do once a year for Administrative Assistant's Day and once a year for the holidays. Which means "team-building" translates into a nice lunch in a different setting with interesting conversation (especially if I can sit with the people I'm closest to).
