I need to build more "doing nothing" time into my schedule. Clearly I'm going to take it whether I have time for it or not. I leave for my backpacking trip tomorrow and am I either packed or packing? No.

Timelies all!
Mr. S came into my bedroom at 6:40 this morning. It hasn't gotten much better.
sj, he is going to daycare on Monday, but it's a different location, and I'm not sure if he'll know any of the kids there. He'll be back at the nursery school/daycare in September, when school starts again. Hope we survive until then.
Best of luck. That sounds stressful all around.
I woke up to find that my kitchen floor next to the back door had acquired an unusually high number of ants, which I traced back to a piece of bread or bagel crust stuck in the bottom of the broom that lives in that corner of the room. So that was incredibly gross. I vacuumed them up, emptied the vacuum filter into the outside trash and stuck an ant trap onto that corner of the room so any latecomers to the free bread crust party will die die DIE.
I think we need to reinstate our monthly cleaning person. Because what I clearly *should* be doing with my time today is scrubbing the kitchen floors, but what I *want* to do, and probably will, is rent a stand-up paddleboard and spend 2 hours on the Croton river and then come home and watch the rest of S2 of Nailed It with the kids.
The latter sounds like a much better idea Jess. I have an ant problem as well (the kitten kept spraying food everywhere when being force fed, and the ants love it) so that's on my list of to-do today. Don't want to scrub the bathroom floor but I guess I will.
Flipping hell, it's hot. I mean, I know it's hot everywhere, but still.
We bought like six kinds of cheese at the grocery store. These two facts are unrelated.
Yeah, your actual plan sounds way better, Jess. Be a job creator!
Also, btw, I found out a guy in my band is from Ossining today, and thought of you!
Timelies all!
Natter's been quiet today, I see.
I'm glad Mr. S is going to daycare tomorrow. He's been so hyper lately.
Cheese is never unrelated.
I spent 5ish hours with dance moms & dad's watching the Scottish highland dance interregional competition. [link] My friend from college's daughter was competing. My friend is a dance mom, for reals. Not crazy kind, though I'm glad it's not me. 5 hours was more than enough. & They've been there since THURSDAY.
Also, probably the whitest large group I've been in in the state. Not terribly surprising, but I notice things like that.
