Hmmm...
Dear Thomas Scola,
We want to make sure you are aware of new TSA security screening procedures that will impact your future flight.
The following items must be removed from carry-on bags and placed into separate bins for X-ray screening:
- Electronics larger than a cell phone
- Liquids – please note that the 3-1-1 rule still applies
- Food and snacks, including any type of food or drink in powdered form
So I take it that a canister of lose tea counts, right?
How much do you want to bet that my mechanical film cameras are going to get flagged, even though they don't contain any electronics?
What? Why no food or snacks?
Depending on the airport, I've been asked to take any food out of my bag and put it in a bin. It hasn't been consistent, though.
Also, hi everyone. I've been working for 12 hours and I would very much like to stop now.
TSA agents don't have access to affordable vending machines on the job? Damned if I know...
Supposedly food has been looking like something suspicious on xrays and so now they want to take it out of the bags. At least that is the justification.
I will say when I worked at the Tallahassee Airport we were evacuated and flights delayed because of a "suspicious" bag. It turned out to be a whole cured ham next to something else that made it look like a possible bomb.
Update: I've been working for 13 hours and I would like to stop anytime now.
13 is so much worse than 12, too. Like you're into a whole new measurement system.
Happy birthday, Sox!
Job ~ma, Scrappy!
Go get 'em, ltc!
shrift, I hope you're not still working!
The TSA sucks.
My repaired laptop is finally back in my hands! It's been a week without it. I was strangely glad to get back to work today.
Whatever is responsible for making shrift work so long - stop that!
Last time I flew, a month ago, I had pre-check both ways, and when I asked what I had to take out of bag, the agent said "Nothing." I had a small laptop, bigger than a cellphone, and my CPAP in my bag and no one quibbled. Maybe flying First Class gets other perks.
