I'm having a very productive day despite the sitter cancellation. I had blood work done for my physical this morning and went to the market while ltc was at camp. Made 4 onerous phone calls ( my definition of onerous being I actually had to talk to someone in the phone). Sorted through all the accumulated mail from vacation, cleaned out both fridges for trash day, and I already have dinner in the oven (marinated chicken breasts and roasted potatoes). So that all that needs to be done now is to steam a green vegetable when TCG gets home.

First person to wish me happy birthday was our handsome (&married, so shut it) tour guide. I swore him to secrecy, telling him I wanted to see how long it took my fam. 11, because my SIL figured out what day it was then. (My dad reminded my mom this am...and then forgot again...) I laughed a lot at their expense.
Climbed up to a top of the world spot around Mt Hekla, I'll find it on a map later (tg for gps photo tagging.) Weather was a rare clear & crisp for this week. Microclime plus just dumb luck.Best birthday present.
Glacier & waterfall tomorrow. For now, I might wander down to the lodge bar, put my brother & SIL room tab on my own & try me some Icelandic bourbon.
Because I fucking can & not sweat it.
That all sounds wonderful, sarameg!
Your day sounds pretty damn good, too, sj!
handsome (&married, so shut it) tour guide.
HAHAHAHA!!
Timelies all!
Sounds like a neat trip, sarameg.
And then, my brother & neph found me in the bar, we got my dad out of his room & pjs, he got a glass of wine, I got the reserve sheep dung smoked floki & we (ok, they, it never stuck with me) taught the youngest neph chess.
It's scary how fast he took to it. And I'm really glad we got my dad. He relished the time.
And now I'm back in my room with a final shot to sip, window open to listen to the howls of the wind & the greebles of the birds nesting & fighting on the riverbank(hotel Ranga, if curious.)
That sounds incredible.
Sounds perfect, sarameg!
That does sound like a lovely day, sarameg.
Someone on Fb told me I ask too many questions. Sooooo tempted to reply, "What does asking too many questions remind you of? Do you often ask questions? Can you ellaborate on that?"
The comic book series I've been reading decided to go utter soap opera because people who get what they want are apparently anathema. They get one more issue before I cancel the hold.
