Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yeah, that's the drama it is. eta: Mr. Thumbs is unwilling to alter his name at all, and, while my initial position was that I would hyphenate, I'm increasingly on the side of "it's not my job to unilaterally do the pain in the ass stuff so as to 'match'" and keeping my name as-is.

I had an adult beverage and ice cream, which is even more boring than not staying out at the bar.

Definitely rude.

I suppose I have another thing to add to my "when I'm in the vicinity of a TJ's" list.

information libertarian

Should I drag my husband (or my daughter) to go see Janelle Monae on a Tuesday night? Aso, why the FUCK does Ticketmaster add literally 40% of the original price in fees? Surely the universe could band together and destroy this monster?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Aren't a lot of artists in cahoots with Ticketmaster because it provides an easy target for public ire over jacked up prices?

Our wings are not tired.

I hope the soccer coach survives the ordeal and is not prosecuted for any possible negligence afterwards: he will have served his sentence underground, IMHO.

He kept those boys alive, which at his own tender age is pretty remarkable. It seems the trail would have been closed if the flash flood had been anticipated. Anyway, they have begun swimming and diving lessons so that it can be an option. Still hoping for some engineering solution.

Thank for posting the Teppy edited article! I am going to pass it on to my #1 son. He knows he has issues, but refuses to consider either therapy or medication. He does read articles I send him, so maybe.

Go Suela! Fun video. I wish I didn't suck at rock climbing. Lori did her best, but I just haven't mangaged, yet, to overcome my vertical fear.

Ugh, Sophia. I really hope that you can maneuver yourself into a situation where you are doing what you are good at, and get well compensated for it.

sorry sj - I think kids can sense when it is a special day for other people and they don't like it. (I'm projecting).

Facts.

Honestly, y'all, I've mellowed SO MUCH.

That will no doubt be helpful. I hope you can remain chill enough to really enjoy this time with your parents.

because last names are stupid and I don't want to think about them anymore.

Dude, I have had 5 of them. If I hadn't changed it the first time I probably wouldn't have done it ever. It is fairly convenient having the same name as your spouse. And definitely convenient to not change your name at all. My DIL is changing hers. When our cousin got married her wife changed her name to our side of the family. When I see them at Bobby & Tate's wedding I have to ask how they made that choice. I also have a friend that took his wife's last name because he really loved her family and his was a dysfunctional mess. tl;dr yes, last names are stupid

But I want to try pan-frying them to see what that does to the texture.

I wonder if I could use the air fryer...

meara, the girl is rude

Our 5-year anniversary is this year (how?), and I *still* haven't changed my name legally, even though I use Tim's name as my last name. I really need to do that.

Our wings are not tired.

We went to a 'neighborhood' fireworks party last night that will surely rival the city display tonight. We have gone for previous years, but this one was crazy. The mosquito app on my phone did a decent job combined with repellent. I'm thinking I should probably stay home with the poor dog tonight and not go to the beach to watch.

I changed my license and voters id, but didn't get around to doing Social Security for probably 20 years. I just filed my return with my previous last name so it wouldn't get kicked out. It had to be done in person so I didn't get it done promptly.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Mosquito app? Pray tell what is this fascinating-sounding device?

There are a number of them for your phone that send out a tone the critters hate. In theory, but it seems to work for me and I am super tasty.

Punishingly Intricate

I can easily predict how people are going to react and what will be the final result that it is very frustrating

Yeah, I have this, too, Sophia, and it can be really annoying. I call it being overly empathetic.

It never occurred to me to change my name when I got married and it always sort of surprises me when a woman of my generation or younger does. I understand that it's complicated for some people.
