"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Woo hoo! There's a new season of Great British Bake Off available!

Actually it's the season from 2012, but it's new to America. But still Mel and Sue.

It's not on Netflix yet, but it's streaming off the PBS channel which I can get free on Roku (after I activated it.)

I'm all cued up for pleasant distraction.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I thought everyone looked younger, but I didn't want to google because I was afraid of spoilers.

Also pasta! Also fish!

One of the best ravioli I ever had was both! Salmon ravioli in a lemon cream sauce, and each ravioli was shaped like a little fish.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I do enjoy fish.

I went with Potbelly by default. It's one thing when tourists don't know how to navigate the ordering process but how did I end up in line behind a Chicago cop who doesn't know how to Potbelly?

Actually it's the season from 2012...

Season 3 was one of the very best. (I love James so much I bought his bread book, and it's brilliant). Enjoy!

Just out of interest: is the 2017 season available in the US? The one with the new presenters?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope you feel better msbelle.

I'll have to look for the GBBO season. Right now I'm watching a lot of World Cup, because my upstairs neighbor got me into it. It's kind of fun.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG, did you all just hear this NPR story about the VA putting on a drag show in rural Vermont??? (It'll be here later.)

Our wings are not tired.

Fred glad you are doing so much better.

Yes, I hope the numbness subsides soon. Taking care of yourself is so vital, and we so often figure it out way later than we should.

Gud, you have to take care of yourself. If you aren't at a point where you know you have to do it for yourself, then do it for your kids. And us, because you are important to us.

Same for the other Buffistas taking care of yourselves. Thank you. I really like you being here and healthy.

I feel like I need to say that of the two sitters I've hired, both have been amazing.

That is good to hear! Also, camp is wonderful for all parties.

In other news, someone broke into my car last night

Oh Matt, I am sorry. It is such an icky violated feeling when that happens. I know I am likely wrongheaded, but I just don't lock my car and keep nothing of value in it. If they want to steal my empty grocery bags and a tiny amount of loose change and napkins they can have it. Don't have anything worth the trouble of replacing my window.

I am in Otter Lake! Finally sitting down at my computer. The travel was great. 800 miles on day 1 to Virginia. I drove right past my nephew's house in NC because he justifies taking kids from their parents and I just can't. Day 2 I was super happy to have timing work out to have lunch with Maria in Harrisburg. Also, Maria, I am a bad wife because when I told Brendon I was going to see you he asked me to tell you that you added a layer of joy to the hockey finals knowing you were there enjoying yourself. Arrived in Otter Lake in daylight and stayed with my sister Friday night.

The service for Andy on Saturday was lovely and all my cousins were really pleased that I came to be with them. I have accomplished a whole bunch of cleaning and such at the house here.

Best part is I decided to just clean and work here during the day and stay with my sister at night. Last night and this morning we mainlined Season 1 of The Good Place because she had never seen it. Good times. Sorry to say her house is going in a backwards direction, but spending time with her I may be able to accomplish something there.

Back to work......

Aww that sounds great, Laura!

I had a very long day of pride, which was mostly good, but my feet are killing me now. And while I'm skipping the parade, I still want to do things today! Had a hard time juggling friend groups yesterday (a couple bad breakups and groups fracture...). But then I had dreams that went even better, where there were cute girls who liked me and people who don't live here we're hanging out. So that was nice!
