It's so terrible and I can't even imagine how a fix could happen, but clearly something needs to!
I took the afternoon off with a stomachache, but maybe my stomach hurts because everything is awful. Who knows.
Just for a change, something NICE.
And a very brief video of a cute costume and the right way to take a picture.
It sickens me but I don't think any of the children who have already been kidnapped will ever be returned to their parents.
And the "keep families together" executive order sounds very much like we're just building all-ages concentration camps now. The GOP will treat is as a grand moral victory and wonder why those of us with working souls still aren't satisfied.
um ... I really hope it's not true, but I've read some reports that they aren't tracking which kids came with which parent(s), making reuniting them difficult if not impossible
From what I've read, not only is that correct, but ICE has been destroying paperwork (such as it is) as they go.
Moreover, there are multiple instances of toddler aged children or younger (8 months) being kept in detention while their parents have already been deported. So...good luck with that 8 month old child being able to identify their parents, should the parents make it back to America.
The damage is already being done. This trauma has already been created. But it can get worse.
So, in less traumatic news, I was kind of overwhelmed by my to do list when I got to work this morning, it just seemed like a lot, but now it's all done except recapping my conference call from yesterday and that I just don't want to do.

That's what I'm assuming. It'll still be horrible, because we are monsters, fulfilling the long history of the US being monsters in this exact way.
It would be nice if we could just, like, try not taking kids from their parents for, I don't know, a century or so, see how that works out. It doesn't seem like that would be too difficult.
Welp, just posted something to Twitter that will almost certainly fill my @s with outraged right wingers. This should be fun.
