I got stupid. The money was too good.

Coding and Sleeping

Seemingly the DHS secretary decided to go out to eat (ironically at a Mexican restaurant) and was driven out by protesters standing around changing "shame, shame".

I don't know how people keep working for Trump. How could it be worth it?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

As a general rule I let recognized people dine out without annoying them; I'd make an exception for people that take kids away from parents and keep them in cages.

Yeah, I think if your policy is forcibly separating asylum seeking parents from their asylum seeking infants, I see no moral issue with a crowd of protesters forcibly separating you from your enchiladas.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

The white house is now having enough trouble finding people who will work there that they had a booth at a job fair on Capitol Hill (I saw one suggestion that they're afraid the pay they'd receive wouldn't cover future legal bills).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Someone just asked the Washington Post restaurant critic about this in his live chat, and his main comment was, "Why would she go to such a crappy restaurant?" Which I appreciate for staying on-topic.

Punishingly Intricate

I've not seen her but deVos shows up regularly at the salon in the bottom of our building in Georgetown. My one coworker has seen her 2x and struggles with the best response. Imo, the ol' double flipper's meaning is pretty effective at getting your point across.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

According to NYT and the Guardian Trump is signing an executive order today to keep families detained together.

No word about reuniting the children already stolen and warehoused.

um ... I really hope it's not true, but I've read some reports that they aren't tracking which kids came with which parent(s), making reuniting them difficult if not impossible

And a number of people have raised questions about where the girls and very young children are - the photos that were released by DHS are all of boys and adults. I fear the worst.

Our wings are not tired.

It may come to that.

No doubt with the vile bogus potus spouting on about how he just had to stop this horrible situation Obama created the moment he heard about it.

I do not even know how they can make this right. Sen Nelson here is Florida tried to get access to a facility at Homestead with a thousand occupants, after being told he could, and was denied entry. Told to come back in two weeks. His job is oversight. This is in his state. It is just insane.

It's still the same system where little kids have been supposedly representing themselves in immigration court, right? What a fucking cluster, regardless of what happens next.
