It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have some close friends whose parents are ardent Trump supporters.

So I've spent the last half hour imagining punching septugenarians in the face, and ripping out their oxygen cannulas. Die you horrible old racist fucks.

My enemy lives under my flag.

Our wings are not tired

Canada needs to sack the White House again.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

It's unexpectedly hitting one of my triggers (which I mean in the clinical sense, not "oh, that makes me sad"), so I'm admittedly not rational about it. But then I also think there is no possible rational reaction to kids in cages.

Tim's dad has found himself a girlfriend at his assisted living facility, which would otherwise be fucking adorable, because she is a sharp-tongued, extremely intelligent, suffers-no-fools lady from Boston. But she seems to be the only Republican from Boston I've ever met, because I had to sit at dinner one night and listen to Jack and Millie talk about how much they love Trump. (One of the other ladies at the table, Edith, who had also seemed like she might be sweet on Jack, started rolling her eyes at the Trump talk and looked like she was going to stab him with a fork, so *that* romance never got off the ground. Edith is now my BFF there.)

Coding and Sleeping

It feels like Fox News has ruined a good chunk of a whole generation.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I just get ideological whiplash with it all. One minute Republicans are all "family values, think of the children" and the next they're "kids in cages is a perfectly reasonable response to people fleeing persecution." (They use to have reservations about Russia, too, but that's another issue.) I guess children only count with Republicans if they're white.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I can't even comprehend it. We seriously have to protest this? This is a thing we've come to?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Ugh, I'm feeling so stabby and angry.

And I've purposefully chosen to live as far from Republicans as possible so it's almost impossible to go outside my front door and step on their bunions.

I'm so glad I live in this neighborhood. Although there's one business, down where there are some warehouses and trucking companies, that had a Trump/Pence sign up during the campaign. It looked out of place in the sea of Sanders signs (followed by Clinton signs in the the general election), but there's always one weird Republican in this neighborhood. Except -- it's 2018 now, and that motherfucker STILL has the Trump/Pence displayed in the front window. I want to bust that window every time I drive by there.

Because books.

I am at the point where if I money to live on without working, I would be driving to the border to protest and do whatever I could.

Or possibly driving to Mar a Lego to do something else, but I'm not actually saying that out loud.

I did give a huge white Ford pickup flying obnoxious US flags the finger on the way home tonight, though.
