Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I don't understand all the fine points, but that certainly sounds like an annoying tangle of red tape and bureaucracy.

That sounds like a lot of bullshit, Sophia. I mean, a 10% raise ain't nothin, but how is that appropriate justification for underpaying a position? Not to mention you, unlike an outside candidate, would be able to hit the ground running. They're already saving time and money (on interviews as well as salary and training) if they hire you. How about you quit and THEN they hire you. Then you're not an internal transfer and they can pay you a lot more? LOL

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That sounds vastly irritating, Sophia.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am annoyed on your behalf.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The other rule, which I know to have been broken, is that internal transfers can only ever get 10% raise. I know this is broken, because I have gotten a larger raise in the past.

I think that's outrageous and have fought against that kind of rule in the past. If they would pay an outside applicant X, they should pay you X, not your current salary+10%.

Our wings are not tired

It might be worth it to talk to a lawyer who specializes in employment law in your state about the wage cap that is being imposed.

Thrive to spite them

brillig

Great Performances on PBS is doing Tosca, my favorite opera. The acting of Tosca and Mario aren't the highest, but Scarpia is deliciously evil.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I was annoyed and calling myself names for mis-filing my package of fruit cups in coconut water in the freezer when I unpacked the groceries. Oh poo, now I either have to wait for it to thaw, or peel the cup off and gnaw on it.

Or! I could leave it on the counter for forty minutes while I make supper, and have a delicious just-thawed-enough-to-eat-with a-spoon tasty sorbet-like treat!

I'm a genius!

Also, Netflix tells me there are new eps of QE. Noice!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't fully understand all that, Sophia, but devember is now my favorite month. I also agree with Jesse and NoiseDesign.

Today was the last day of load-in for our next show and the associate designer sent an email last night detailing some 24 adds. We got it all done (because my crew is awesome) but this design team is not building up a lot of good will going into tech.
