I find that I'm watching more PBS than anything else ... and, realizing that, I gave them some money (got a Dr. Who mug!).

I don't really watch TV either, but I almost hate to say it because I don't regard it as some sort of virtue. I just don't have time. I think consuming other people's creative output is a great thing no matter the medium.
This. So much this.
Leverage may be the perfect tv series, from several points of view. As much as I miss it, I think it ended at the perfect point in time, and in the characters' lives.
Longmire is another favorite. The landscape is actually a character in much the way the mountains were in Brokeback Mountain. Those characters would be vastly different and the stories would be too, in another environment. Plus, Saracen's Grandma is the office manager!

That just makes me want to rewatch FNL.
The second season of Penny Dreadful is very strong. Third season less so.

The second season of Penny Dreadful is probably the best. Third season has some great parts, but the showrunner's interviews about how it was always planned for only three seasons are obvious lies, because no one introduces dangling plot points unless they're sowing seeds for upcoming seasons. Also, when I rewatch PD, I don't watch the last episode.
I'm sorry, sj.
My attempt at getting through a TV backlog is currently making my way through Leverage. I'm in S3. This show is a goddamn DELIGHT.
YES. Hey, where are you watching it? It left Netflix, is it on Hulu?

Nope, it left Hulu, too, so I'm buying the seasons on Amazon, which is cool, because I'm going to want to rewatch them.
The final episode of Penny Dreadful was a total betrayal. I was so disappointed.
Leverage is on Ion TV if you get that channel.

So much lies! My theory is that rising star salaries got to be a factor with budgeting, and the creatives were told they either had to cut back on Eva's salary or their FX budget. I think she certainly balked at that, and they wobbled for a little bit and tried to introduce that new female character to replace her. Then quickly realized how utterly bullshit that would be and decided to just wind it up. There had to be something amiss with Eva Green's contract for them to all but write her out of those concluding eps, add in a new random female character and then tie it off so abruptly.
