I have been totally surgeried. Local hasn't worn off yet.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Only the eating-my-feelings diet.
Right there with you. All the chocolate. ALL OF IT.
Woot! The revised Thanksgiving schedule is out, and I'm off on Thursday! Time to go to the fancy grocery store on Wednesday and get something decadent to eat in my bathrobe. My SIL called last night to invite me to the friend's place she goes to on T-Day, but I really don't want to a pity guest. "This is my widowed sister-in-law, she has nowhere to go." I do have somewhere to go--my comfy chair with the entire run of Avengers movies on the TV.
I was seriously living on coffee and Advil for almost a week. Occasionally a scone. I'm still working my way back to a normal size meal in a single sitting. Fwiw, I think eating your feelings is probably the healthier option.
I hope surgery went nice and easy and that you don't have much pain one the local wears off.
I just want to take my anti-anxiety meds and crash out. Today has NOT been fun.
I miss eating my feelings. It's my normal coping mechanism. The food aversion is frustrating.
Maybe you mean grits with shrimp?
Ah, thank you. Good to have that resolved.
Enjoy your day off, Connie!
Gah, aurelia, a week is a long time for that! I'm glad you can eat again.
I had three mandarins, apple slices, walnuts, slivers of baked ham, swiss, and cheddar cheeses, and half a banana tossed together without dressing for supper last night. Twas yum. We demolished a vat of pintos cooked with the ham for dinners last week. And there's a vat of vegebarleybeef soup on the stove, aroma-torture till it's done.
Of course I inhaled a half-pound bag of M&Ms--peanut though, so, protein. And we had ham-egg-and-cheese biscuits for supper one night, because ham. We seem to do better when there are serving-sized gladware boxes of beans, lentils, soup, etc. on hand. Rarer defaulting to a handful of chips and candy.
I should probably have a dishpan full of salad, at some point.
I really need to get a slow cooker so I can make things over the weekend like the balsamic roast beef I found. I've got a freezer which I should use for more than fish and pizza.
I want to send Christmas cards, but the generic store ones are mostly stupid and expensive ($15-20 for 8 cards??) and I feel dumb sending cards with photos of me or that I took...it somehow feels way more awkward as a single person than as a couple or family. Like, photos I took is a little too "look how cool I am I went cool places!" --and because I'm always the one taking photos all my photos of me are selfies.
