"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Right now my massive annoyance is a whole slew of people telling my nephew's fiance that he needs to have a sleep study because he must have sleep apnea because he snores. His mother chiming in with testimony that both she and his grandmother have sleep apnea, so he should get the study done. His mother and grandmother are both seriously obese and he is an athletic mid 20s guy in great shape. People with sleep apnea often snore, but the vast majority of people who snore don't have apnea!!

I've had a number of people "helpfully" tell me I should do a sleep study for this. Look, I know I snore like a buzz saw, but I have since I was a kid, and I don't wake myself up with shortness of breath or suffer excessive daytime sleepiness. Go play Amateur MD with someone else.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Have a good haircut, Laura.

Migraine gone! Steroids in full effect! I know because they kept me up until 3AM!

Ann, that's a ferret.

Hubs insisted that I see an allergist and demand a sleep apnea test because I snore. The allergist said that I probably didn't have sleep apnea, but he couldn't say no definitively. He offered to schedule a sleep test, but (six months later), nobody has followed up with me on that.

I guess I just have to accept that I snore like a wildebeest (in the words of a hospital roommate).

Our wings are not tired.

Hair is gone! Bangs are back and hair is shoulder length which is long enough to tie up when I go to the beach. I went to DH's barber because I hate that the general hair salons insist on shampooing my hair and then using a blow dryer when they are done. Just cut it! Wetting it with a spray bottle is fine. My fine air takes approximately 2 minutes to dry without a blow dryer.

Migraine gone! Steroids in full effect! I know because they kept me up until 3AM!

Excellent! Yay steroid energy.

I will say that I don't normally snore (or only for a minute or two) but do have sleep apnea. The biggest difference I find with wearing my CPAP is that I don't clench my teeth at night (and then wake up with a headache). I didn't realize those were related but apparently they can be.

Our wings are not tired.

I use one of those mouth things for snoring, which works, and serves to keep me from grinding my teeth too. If I forget, which happens often, I wake with a sore throat which lets me know that I snored.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I guess I just have to accept that I snore like a wildebeest (in the words of a hospital roommate).

It doesn't seem possible, but Tim is totally cool with my snoring. When I went to Colorado for 10 days to help my brother, Tim texted me in the middle of the week to say "I miss your snoring. I find it comforting." Good thing, because I snore like a big fat old man who has swallowed a buzz saw. But no sleep apnea, AFAIK.

Our wings are not tired.

DH's snoring puts me to sleep if it is normal and rhythmic; if he is on his back and does the pause breathing thing I wake him up to change position. Zero chance of me getting him to do a sleep study.

brillig

I'm getting my hair cut this weekend. I keep thinking a Number 2 rake is the way to go, but I don't want to look like my MIL with her Marine hair cut.
