I would rather work for the Mafia than a health insurance company, as I'd probably cause direct harm to far fewer people.
Sorry, I don't know of any Clevelandistas.
We're expecting (80% chance or better) rain and thunderstorms through Sunday. I love me some rain and thunderstorms, but even I think that's edging on excessive. Mostly because I'm meeting friends for a tour of a local arboretum on Saturday, and if it happens it'll be a muddy, sodden mess. Thunderstorms are for sitting on the sofa with some tea and a cat, reading murder mysteries.
Deena is not there anymore.
I know this is petty, but because I feel like I should generally be working more (I have a lot to do!), I LOVE IT when people notice that I am here early/late. There is a strong 9-5 culture here, with more senior people generally getting in early, so I'm glad that there are people who see me here at 8:30 or 5:30 and think that means I'm diligent.
Our senior leadership works on a different floor, and most of the folks in my division roll in between 10-11, so I feel like my early-bird tendencies are totally wasted! I mean, yes, I get a ton of work done between 9-10 when I'm the only one here, but nobody is around to notice and see how diligent I am! Hmph!
I believe she is doing well. They moved because her hubby couldn't find another job where they were. I don't really feel comfortable sharing more information about her without her permission, but I'll let her know people were asking about her.
You get full credit with me, Jessica!
So last night I had one friend have a tornado land in her neighborhood, and another admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis.
Not enjoying this Friends In Jeopardy biz.
I was just thinking about Deena. Tell her I said Howdy if you do ping her.

See, you feel me. (Can you send all of your emails then?)
My diligence is acknowledged by DH, while my slackitude goes unnoticed as it is widely dispersed throughout the day and evening. I may work 15 hour days, but there are frequent breaks. Like now when I am taking off 1-1/2 hours to go workout. I start at 6ish in the morning, break for breakfast and to drive my son to work. Work some more. Browse the internet. Work. Play games. Break for swimming or workout class. Work. Make lunch. Work. This continues until 9-10 PM. Some of the work has to be done while customers are working, and other stuff has to be done off hours.
