"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yeah, I'm looking forward to that Laura. She's very smart, and very rigid in wanting to stick to her schedule. So, she knows when things are different, but she can't fully articulate what the problem is and can't be reasoned with.

Sorry about the quiet, Sarah! I am in meetings most all of today...which I actually prefer to not having anything at all to do, but...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a weird amount of meetings today, which somehow means I'm not getting anything else done, even though it feels like I should be able to!

So, she knows when things are different, but she can't fully articulate what the problem is and can't be reasoned with.

Yeah, that's a really hard age for that -- totally aware, still not rational. The good news is, it will change.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Sorry, sj.

You, too, Theo. That sounds really uncomfortable.

We have our company-wide address from the managing director in a few minutes. Can't say I'm feeling too good about htis year so far, but who knows what he will say. If I remember and there's an opportunity, I would like to ask about how aluminum tariffs will affect us.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh dear. It started thundering again. Very large animal will want to be in my lap in moments.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Youth may be wasted on the young, but muscle relaxers are fun, too.

I think I need this embroidered on a pillow.

Last night I made a poor but delicious life choice: I had real pizza. I didn't eat the crusts, but still. Forbidden gluten, way too many carbs. It was SO TASTY. I'm in a lot of pain today, but I don't have a desk job anymore, so I can go to the spa and soak whenever I want without worrying about having to make up hours.

Is it national I Need A New Job Week? I've had more people reach out to me about connections on LinkedIn or references or referrals over the past few days than I've had in the past year put together.

So what happened?

Apparently it is storming here, but I only know from rumors.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

There are, at last count, 6 more large branches in my backyard than there were the last time I checked.

Conclusion: Dang, it's windy!

There is not actual rain here, it turns out, but it got real dark all of a sudden.

I did not have an opportunity to ask but someone else did and the answer is we're not sure. It's not clear whether the aluminum discs we import count as raw material or worked goods (they are not aluminum ingots, but does shaping into discs and coating them make them not count for this? Nobody knows. Well, nobody here knows for sure, anyway). The finished goods that are mostly what we bring in are not impacted.

As to how we are doing - not great but better than the rest of the sector so ... yeah, I don't know how to feel about that. No layoffs in the foreseeable future, but, hey, "foreseeable" is tricky isn't it?

The snippet of Circulon infomercial we saw made me really want mac and cheese, and Ayesha Curry is adorable.
